Need Exhaust suggestions

I,m not crazy about the looks of the 2014/15 stock exhaust however the sound is just about right for me. Loud pipes may save lives but they also destroy relations with your neighbors.
I love the look of the Rinehart 4 inch slip ons and they sound fine at idle. Its the louder notes when on the throttle that would annoy me.
Can anyone suggest a nicer looking slip on to replace the stock that would not be appreciably louder than

stock? Again, I love the Rinehart look, just wish they were a bit quieter. I even called Rinehart and asked if there were different baffles available for these exhausts and they said no

suggestions please?

Vance and Hines makes quite baffles for their slip ons. You might want to check them out.

I'd recommend taking a look at the RC Components RCX Slip-ons (link below). While they will be louder than the stock mufflers, they do sound good at idle but are not over powering at highway cruising speeds. When you click on the link, if you scroll down the page then expand the "Other Details" tab the first link is an audio recording we made of the stock mufflers vs. the RCX slip-ons.

I do think it is important to note as you do your research that virtually any aftermarket slip-on will be louder than the stock mufflers and even the stock mufflers will provide an even louder exhaust note when paired with an aftermarket header that does not have the catalytic converter in tact which also "muffles" the sound as well.

Hopefully this helps...good luck with your search!!

PM sent to you thanks

Jim0249-Most answers have already been given for your post but I'll add my 3 cents too.
Several slip on mfg's offer replaceable baffles allowing you to change the sound by replacing inserts. V&H and Rush quickly come to mind. Also anytime yo do away with the catalytic converter either by gutting stock pipe or adding catless head pipes you will ALSO increase the sound (Decibels). Most everyone loves the sound of my scoot but for me it's a bit too loud but since I spent a boatload of $$$ on it I'll live with it.
Listen to other peoples setups at events or the dealer.
Your not going to get a true representation of some guys pipes on YouTube. Good luck with your search and decision.
Don't forget CM_Jeff at Coastal Moto when ready to purchase. He's one of our sponsors and a good guy to do business with AND, he will probably save you some $$$.

Jim,
Reinhart mufflers have nice lines but are way too loud. There are always HD CVO take offs for sale cheap on e-bay. They kind of have the Street Cannon look but are quiet. I don't think they would do much to increase performance unless you in put Fullsac cores.
Come spring I will be pulling the stock muffs and installing HD/Supertrapp Fatshotzs. They are quiet, tunable, and have a huge performance boost in TQ.

Best,

Blues

Lindsey hooked me up with vance & hines power duals with rcx mufflers. Sound great but it is loud. I wasn't really looking for this much noise cause I loved listening to the music going down the road. Now I'm looking for better speakers and amp to off set the pipes music.

consider Jekyll and Hyde adjustable sound slipons. You can adjust the baffle electronically. From 'silent' to fully open. I have them on mij SG 15 with screaming eagle air filter and love the deep sound. Sounds better (deeper) than the Screaming eagles and is not so loud as the big shots of VH. You can adjust the HD Growl of the HD to the level of your music.

I have V&H Power Duals with 4" Reinharts and they sound nice when you jump on it but when cruising they aren't too loud at all.

I just put Freedom Performance inverse slip-on's on mine. They have a nice deep rumble to them at idle and I can still hear the radio at 80+... If you are worried about them being to loud I know they offer a quiet baffle as an option. I believe Rush also makes a quiet baffle for the Big Louie.

I am a fan of the 2-1-2 look of the V&H pipes (X-pipe), others don't. Hard to argue with V&H quality and support and as I'm usinf the FP3 they make a great match!
