Had focal speakers and amp installed and going down the road the red light on the speed odomer comes on and the radio shuts off. After restarting bike the radio works again until going down road again, mostly when the radio is at higher volume. Thanks

Is the radio flashed ? Line Levers installed? What amp? Sounds like the gains may be too high and/or improper settings on amp( incorrect tuning )

Had an audio shop do the install. I know the system was not flashed the tech said it did not need to de done.

Did you buy a 'package' system that was plug and play or was it pieced together and installed?

There are plug and play packages like the MPAK system from Arc Audio that do not require a flash and just need proper tuning... others require at least line levers or a flash to perform the best.

One thing, make sure your AVC ( Automatic Volume Control ) in the head unit is turned OFF... this control actually works against the amp as it tries to boost the signal highs and reduces the lows as it sees fit while you are moving.... it's like an EQ curve that adjusts on the fly, which is not needed and defeats the purpose of the amp.

As stated in my previous post, improper tuning will make a great system sound poor. For example... full range active on the amp is not the way to run them on a scoot... high pass filter should be used .. unlike being enclosed in a car, bass is not going to happen on a scoot, plus most of the 6.s" speaker family have a HTZ range of 45-65htz... its midrange driven, not really a bass speaker by design. Having your gains too high and not adjusted properly will cause clipping and overheating issues with the amp... causing it do not give you any output sound.

I don't want to high jack the thread but I will :D I've been looking into upgrading the audio, some systems say the dealer must flash the system once the upgrade is done. What does the dealer usually charge to do this?

$40-$50. There are plug and play systems that do not require a flash... get with Karl at Nocage Audio... sponsor on here... good guy to work with...MPAK plug and play from Arc...he carries them

The BT 355 line leveler goes between the head unit and the amp not to the speakers so it should not affect the main speaker and the tweeter separately.
