Hey folks, I bought a black 07 street glide about a week and a half ago. Love it! it is high mileage (81000), but it is what I could afford and I usually wrench on my own stuff so figured I could get every thing square and be ahead. So the intermittent electrical gremlin has stuck its head up a couple of times. Engine and battery light are coming on. Code says low voltage at EFI. I have trouble shot the stator, voltage regulator and the battery, everything seems to be in spec. I have tightened the battery connections and ground nuts. This morning on the way to work the voltage meter dropped just below 12volts for a short time then went back up to the normal reading of around 14volts. Do you think it is an intermittent voltage regulator issue? Thanks for any advice, great forum!

Welcome schaferhund. Sorry I do not have any great ideas to add for troubleshooting the bike but welcome from Newnan, GA!

Welcome from Battle Mountain NV and good luck with that gremlin. Could be that regulator but could also be worn or loose connection plug or wire worn through somewhere. Is it a regular thing or just intermittent pain.

It is completely intermittent. I got it a week ago last Saturday. Ran it for a couple hundred miles the first week with no problems. Then washed it on the fourth and went for a ride and it started. I thought maybe I had gotten some water someplace it shouldn't have been but I was very careful not to dowse everything. Then rode it Saturday and had no problems. Yesterday rode it to work with no problem (40 minutes) then when I started for home last night the lights came on again. This morning on the way to work the lights didn't come on but 10 minutes or so in to the ride the voltage dropped from around 14v to just under 12v. Then a few minutes later it jumped back up. It doesn't seem to effect how the bike runs. I am going to check over all the connections and put dielectric Grease on them to shield against moisture.

Welcome from Northern Va. You may want to check your gauge, it could be a faulty gauge.
