This winter has been mild, but, seems horribly long for some reason. Next winter, I have been thinking about renting a trailer and hauling my scoot south and riding for a few days. Thought about dropping off around Marion, Il. or Paducah, Ky. How much snow do these areas typically get, if any and do they use salt on the roads?

Do you have a place you can store a trailer Buckshot ?? I would look into a 6X10 enclosed trailer and it may pay for it's self over the next couple years if you travel south then jump out and run. I picked one up for about 2500 with the wheel lock or chock and E-track to secure it with. May pick one up cheaper used if you shop around. I usually have a Arizona trip under my belt but life has got in the way this year. Won't get to travel until April for bike week with the job and family things going on. Hunting was a bust with way too much snow to get where the elk were.

Pretty limited space to buy one. Would like to for me and just in case a friend needs a hand. Just don't have room in town. Chaps my butt. Would love to live where I could have a pole shed just for this kind of thing.

Guys i'm in the same boat.... been looking at a 6x10 cargo trailer to be able to head south for a long weekends. Have limited space on property to store it but may give up my garage space to be able to park trailer in front of the garage just so i have it! Been shopping for used but can get into new one for around $2350 here in Iowa.

I live about 35 miles from Marion IL.
Winters are hit or miss here might be teens one day and 50 +/- the next.
Get freezing rain and or ice here more often then snow, but di get snow on occasion.
They use mostly that liquid salt solution on the roads and over passes not the typical salt.
But i do manage to ride 12 months out of the year.
About to head out in a few its 27 degrees and suppose to get to around 51 today.

Get on your bad motor scooter and ride

We're a little further south than Paducah. They use the liquid ice melting stuff here, but only when ice or snow is expected, which isn't often. Maybe 2-3 times a year. This year winter seems to have skipped us. We just had a winter storm that dropped a dusting on us. Nashville got it a little worse.

Thanks RW. Looking for drop off points. May also look at southern Kansas. Have a friend down there to park the rig and ride with.
