Pin Stripes

Thinking about having my 17' SGS pin striped. There is a guy in my area with almost 50 years experience, he is a fanatic and his work is excellent. Going to have it all done, bags, fenders, tank, fairing and side covers. It will take him several days to complete. I don't want to over do it. I would appreciate any photos posted to get some ideas of what I would like done, thanks in advance.

Pin striping is a personal choice, in my region it's pretty much passe except on the extreme show bikes. Personally I couldn't wait to trade the 2014 for the M8 so I could lose the striping.

I like the pin stripping on my 14 but have been tossing around the idea of changing the color for a couple years. Thinking of going gloss or flat black on a red bike it should pop. Not going to add any other stripes just the stock ones.

Honestly----- Old school however every now and again I see a bike that looks good with it but has to be unique. Just my 2 cents and that's all it's worth.

I'm not looking to copy, just wanting to get some ideas. Looking thru book of work past done helps but I want to see more ideas.

The straight stripes on the 14 (and other years from the factory) are too plain. Looking for designs that will set my bike off from the rest. I'm glad they dropped the stripes on the 17's.

Don't have any photos on my laptop buy will try to post later. Mine is flat black just the red SGS factory stripes but they worked for me to tie the bike together with other things I added as accents. Red piping when I had the seat done and the red calipers in the front.

I had my bike repainted recently and my painter asked if I wanted to get fancy or not with the pin striping. I decided I didn't like the factory stripes but also didn't want it too fancy. They are painted on vs tape. The bike is a bit dirty but here's some pics.

These are on my sportsters just a hint of what will be coming on the SGS.
If ya got a good old school painter....you gotta love it
