I am running a JM Rokker 250W 2 channel amp with Focal 165 KRC speakers in my fairing and tour pack pods. My stereo sounds great at highway speeds, but my wife recently told me that she sometimes has trouble hearing the tour pack speakers. This caused me to look for another alternative that would help her to hear better. What I did was purchase a HD 5 pin to 3.5mm adapter and a 3.5mm Y adapter. I plugged both adapters and our Beats ear buds into the HD comm port that I had previously installed on my gas tank. We took a road trip this past weekend and the sound quality of the Beats ear buds is even better than listening to the music through the fairing and tour pack speakers because you don't hear any wind and the music is piped directly into your ears. We never even had to turn the volume up more than half way. Of course you must select headphones in your Infotainment System in order to listen to the ear buds. This is a much cheaper alternative to purchasing more speakers, lower pods and a new JM amp. Now on the other hand, You could go extremely wild with you stereo upgrades, but it will cost you dearly. My brother just finished a major stereo upgrade to his 2017 CVO SG, which consists of three 300W Boom Audio Stage 2 amps. He added the third Boom Audio 2 amp to run his Boom Audio 2 speakers in the lower pods. Note: Adding the third Boom Audio 2 amp required him to have the dealer flash the radio to activate it. He then sent his bags to American Bagger to have two custom 10" subwoofer kits built and installed in each bag. He is now running one Diamond Audio 10" sub and a 500W Diamond Audio amp in each bag. This brings his total wattage to 1900W. Yes, he is a bass-head...LOL. This system is a work of art and the subs haven't even been broken in yet! He doesn't get on here much, but maybe I can convince him to do a thorough write up on his stereo upgrades. Meanwhile, here are some pics of my HD 5 pin to 3.5mm adapter and Y adapter setup.
