Ok i have a question for those of you that have rear saddlebag guards on your ride. I was wondering if the passenger's leg hits them or rubs on them. My wife is 6' and has long legs and didn't know if she would have these problems. If any of you could chime in and let me know if this is an issue i would really appreciate it! On the other hand not having the bags damaged "WHEN" I do drop it might be worth it for both her and I!!

Thanks in advance!!

My wife is about 5'9". Her legs do rest on them a little. I asked her if I should take them off to be more comfortable and she said it was no big deal. Just leave them on.

I've been contemplating buying these for my 14SG and have the same
questions. Been lurking at some of the other Forums and the concensus seems to be that everyone thinks they are a good idea but there are those that don't care fo the looks. There are lower Comfort profile bars for 09-13 touring models in the HD parts book that appear to give more leg room maybe that's the ticket.

These will work. I had an Electraglide Classic with the saddlebag guards with the flat top. These have an angle so they don't cut into your passenger's thigh yes still protect your bags. http://www.harley-davidson.com/store/comfort-profile-rear-saddlebag-guard-pa-02-4917909--1

These will not work with 2014. The newer bars have a built in angle and the ones for 2014 and newer are these. In fact I am ordering them for my 14 SGS in the next few weeks. Here is a link for them http://www.harley-davidson.com/store/chrome-rear-saddlebag-guards

I bought a set of black ones that if it ever warms up enough to get out in the garage I am putting on. I had my wife look at the picture before I bought them to see if she thought they would be ok.

Thank you all for your replies.... I went ahead and bought them today after i saw Buckshot's comment about his wife being 5' 9" tall.... Wife saw the picture on harley's website and said that they should be ok... Plus it gives her something to lift the bike up with when i drop it!!! Lol!

Here are mine and they don't bother passenger legs if that is your question.

I have a set of black ones waiting for installation also. Got em from Kutter along with the service manual and SE intake.

thinking of doing my saddlebag support guards today....My question is can i do it on the jiffy stand or should i use my jack? And the destructions say to use a block of wood or something to support the mufflers. Is that an Absolute Must?? Thanks...

Did mine without a jack. Just take it easy. No biggie. Easy job.

Ok cool thanks Mike!! It's a toss up between taking wife for a ride or doing the guards...Just can't make up my mind!!!!!

My wife said it doesn't bother her, but again she doesn't ride on the back of my bike either...she has her own ride...lol

Liar, Liar - pants on fire !
Funny one Mojo..... I actually didn't do Either of them!!! Had the boy this weekend and by the time i took him home i came down with a cold/flu!! Today is 83 and home sick!!!! It sucks!!

Did mine in the garage on the side stand. Took about 20 minutes. The new ones as said before angle down low and there is more clearance. I bought them because day 1 I managed to fall over in a parking lot. Hurt my pride, not the bike. Got these for insurance.
