Stopped at my local dealership to schedule an appointment to get my saddle bag clips replace, and received an interesting tidbit.
It seems there is going to be a recall for the recall on the bag fasteners. The service writer was taking down names and when they receive the updated fasteners, they are going to call and get people in. Until then, they weren't taking any more appointments on the original recall.

Mine did the same thing to me earlier this week. I just stared at the service writer and said "Wait, really?"

I'm with BluesBelly on this ... riding with no thoughts of either bag going anywhere.

Ya'll can do yourselves a favor and forget the HD solution and spend about $7 at Home Depot and fix them once and for all as I did 2 years ago.

BB just go get the bolts and life will be better.

I went to my Harley dealer to discuss the recall. I told them people on this forum were complaining about bags falling off for at least six months. I showed them the bolts I got from BaggerSTD and the service manager said they are an upgrade to what they are using for the recall so no need to do it on my bike.

Two things I like about this kit: Price and it takes an Allen wrench to take them off which adds another element of theft deterrent.

Sold ... I see this same kind of recall **** everyday in RV Business.. The fix is often worse than the problem.. I'll handle it StreetGlideForum style... Although the Royalty Payment to Mojo still seems wrong ?

Heh, Heh, Heh

I hear ya on the bolts, but they need to get this right, I adjust my shocks very often. I am speaking for the recalls, however my bike isn't on the list...good idea Mojo

At least some of you all's stealerships took your name and would call you when they come in. Took mine up there and they said "out of them, don't know when they're coming in but give us a call before you ride up here again".
Another example of fine customer service.

Mine said the same thing.

I just had mine done yesterday, they still had the "bad" parts last week waiting for the recall replacements.

Took 5 minutes once I wheeled my bike in and took the bags off. But I'll probably wind up doing the home depot fix a little later down the road anyway.

Were they (HD) supposed to be sending out a "formal" recall letter like they did with the clutch issues? I never got one..My bags seem quite tightly secured, what do I look for to know if I have the problem?
