Hows it going everyone, I am buying a 2013 street glide midnight pearl with 2600 miles. It has V&H pipes and a 4 point docking for backrest/tourpack. I dont know if this will come across as tacky and by no means does anyone have to respond but I'm just curious whether I am getting a good deal, at 17k. I also understand that in the end its whether or not I'm happy with the deal (i am) im just curious how it stacks up with what others might pay around the country.

Next portion what would be some aftermarket add ons that you great folk would recommend for me? I'm curious about the aux cable set up anyone has for their phones and also where you keep it? As far as the pipes go Im happy with the sound but I'm able to get rid of the cat converter with pipes straight from the engine to the exhaust. Also, thinking about the 7" LED daymaker headlight, highway peg suggestion?

Thanks in advance

Sounds about right on the price and you already have a really good start. You need to just go look at different bikes and pick what you like and add it. I have already added all your wish list and a whole lot more. After a while you will become obsessed with making it more yours and a lot cooler ride.

Have fun with your quest and pictures always help hint hint lol Oh yea welcome to the fun

Trying to but having a little trouble adding from my phone lol

kcco- I just addressed your phone charge issue for a good friend with a Police/Electraglide. Here's how we solved his problem:

Task: He wanted to both listen to his playlist (iPhone or USB stick) and charge at the same time but has no sound system on his bike.
Fix: We installed a Battery Tender & Lead off his battery. Then we added the USB/Battery Tender adapter ($12) and connected an iPhone cable to it. He bought a Bluetooth headset (LG 730) and paired it to his phone. Now he can listen / charge / AND shuttle thru his playlist with the button on the LG.

I've been waiting for this question! My SGS was a former rental, and was missing the foam insert in the fairing compartment. The USB plug looked so inviting so I plugged in my Samsung Galaxy S5 Active and closed the cover. Of course, with these bigger phones it's hard to get the door closed, right?

Anyway, about 1/2 hour later at about 50 mph, yeah, that's right, the phone popped out and hit the pavement! I pulled over and started looking for it. The back cover was off and the battery had gotten run over by a car, and the phone had a few scratches but none on the touchscreen. Powered right on with a new battery.

So, with foam insert and appropriate sized phone, the compartment is probably great.

Now I'm using an older small phone for tunes and putting the bigger phone in the bags.

Dkat555- I'm glad the functionality of your phone survived.

Kcco- I think it is a great idea to ask others about bike values and purchase price.
Since your pipes are already taken care of, what does the bike have for an air cleaner?
My approach for bike mods is:
Fit mods- do I need to do anything to improve me reach or control of the bike?
Performance- exhaust, air cleaner, and tune- cams, throttle body, etc if you're really feeling froggy
Visibility (this might go before performance) - what can I do to make it easier for caters to see me and for me to see the road? Daymaker (truck light or jwspeaker) and custom dynamics turn signals are great adds.
Comfort- new seat and highway pegs- rider backrest- audio upgrades and phone connections (I personally prefer bluetooth hookups between my helmet and phone- like with sena.). Also, you might find that a different windscreen is a good purchase, I went with a long ride shields recurve this time.
Looks- what else do I want to do to make the bike look the way I want it to look- powder coat parts, change grips, change bars (if it wasn't done as a fit issue).
This is just a partial list that many people will have many different opinions about.
Granted, for the current bike, I started, at delivery with a new paint job and huge performance upgrades- then I did the fit mods on my own- and then followed along with my usual scheme of maneuver.

dkat555- One of the first things I did when I got my scoot was discard the thick bulky foam filler in the Juke Box. I lined mine with inexpensive adhesive backed 1/16 foam. It works well for me.

You can get the foam sheet at some Wal-Marts or craft stores. For some reason its hard to find it in black.
Good luck guys-its a winner!!

Mandrew- The fits are all good right now, I actually had the dealership swap out the seat between my bike and another streetglide that had an aftermarket seat on it that fit me better as part of the deal. I do need to get highway pegs though for the distance rides. It came with V&H Twin slash slip ons, in a little bit I am going to get pipes on to get rid of that cat and at that time ill get an aftermarket Aircleaner. Any recommendations?
I did buy a daymaker LED light, it looks sharp and does a great job.
Future plans include a hookup for my phone, Im debating on what has been suggested on here. A rider back rest and taller windshield are my wants for the distance rides this summer. Thanks again everyone for the input.

Rider backrest, wind screen, and highway pegs (I'm not really tall enough to enjoy those) are great adds for long ride comfort.
Keep an eye out for discounts- long ride shields and clearview shields often have decent sales/coupons.

As far as air cleaners go, there are many options and opinions. I've had the sexy Arlen Ness Inverted Aircleaner (previous bike) and Harley's heavy breather elite- happy with the performance and looks of both, but there are a lot of other great options out there.

In reference to your inquiry about an air cleaner assembly; I always recommend the Fuel Moto unit from www.fuelmotousa.com this unit uses the Rushmore cover and keeps the unit dry from outside influences. It flows way more air than you'll ever need and the unit does not protrude into your leg area.
If you need something more flashy but less functional because of the propensity to absorb moisture as a result of an exposed air filter element there are many offerings from many suppliers.
So basically decide what look you want and go shopping. Comparing flow rates of after market air intakes is limited to the actual path of resistance of different units (read smoothest flow through the unit) because aftermarket filters all flow way more air than any reasonable motorcycle will ever use.

Low & Slow,

Blues

That's what I need to do. For some reason my bike didn't have the foam filler in it.

Great idea. Found this on ebay http://www.ebay.com/itm/1-16-x-6-Ad...B-/281442793768?ssPageName=ADME:X:RTQ:US:1123
Ships internationally

Where do you normally find your discounts/sales at? Also, the air cleaner wont be for a few months but thanks again!

anesthesioloog- Thanks for posting, I may get some extra sheets so I can help out my friends locally.
