My neighbor was installing mount for rear backrest and needed help on his 2015 Road Glide, when I went over to help first thing I saw was the right side shock was upside down. Told him about it and he looked at me with surprise and said he has been riding it that way since he bought it for over 6k miles, did not notice any different. I told him when he put on the backrest he'll have any issue, and guess what....oh yea.....he called me again stating backrest will not fit correctly and need my help turning that shock around. I helped him with it and backrest fit perfectly. He called his dealership and reported this as he was a bit upset about it. He had his bike in his dealer several times, 2 times they were doing full maintenance and did not corrected that. Now he knows taking it to Harley dealership (way over price) is just the same as taking it to local certified Harley shop (much cheaper) but at least my friend shop has very knowledgeable Harley techs. When I ask them they can tell me which way it's supposed to be mounted.
