Hubby purchased this shift linkage (pictured) to replace the rather droll stock linkage on his 2018 Street Glide. Problem is, the clunk sound ( that disappeared with the Milwaukee 8) when shifting gears has returned with the switch. Has anyone made the switch and experienced this? Should we be worried about him damaging the transmission?

The only way that I can see the new shifter linkage causing an issue, is if the length was not set to the same length as the stock linkage. You can either use dowel rods or measure the length from the center of the front hole to the center of the rear hole in the stock linkage and then set the new linkage to those measurements.

My M8 has ALWAYS had the Clunk going up or down the shift range. About half the time the clunk is missing going from neutral to 1st.

My M8 clunks from neutral to first gear half the time...
