Has anyone put the upgrade Sirius Radio on there bike? I hear in the hill country it does not work good on open roads is fine, don't want to invest that kind of money for poor reception.

I have been running Sirius for yeas in all my four wheeled vehicles. Never had a problem with reception anywhere. That being said, I cannot justify the cost Harley is asking for a receiver. Then pile a monthly subscription on top of that.

Pandora works just fine running off my phone.

Ditto Pandora. I recently cancelled both subscriptions in my cars. Their customer service was just atrocious. I always ended up trying to understand broken English spoken in India!

I run the satellite radio. Works good except when you go under bridges or get stuck behind a building on the north side which is blocking the view to the south. It's cheaper here than using all your Data on your phone. Gets costly when you run over your limits.

I dumped satellite radio in my trucks quite some time ago and I don't regret it at all...it wasn't worth the money for what I was getting. I *MAY* have kept it if I was spending a lot of time driving in terrestrial radio dead-zones, but I don't. For either my truck or the Harley internet radio streamed from my phone is my preferred method now (Slacker FTW (assuming it works properly...usually takes a couple restarts to get it to cooperate). I have a thumb drive with about 1200 songs downloaded attached to the USB input for the times when I am out of cell and FM range.

Edited to add:
When I did have satellite, I never had issues with reception, even if the roof of my truck was covered in snow (far better than satellite TV!) the only time I ever lost signal was under bridges or tunnels or anything that restricted view to the sky...never even happened in downtown areas with tall buildings.

I had satellite radio for many years, it's perfectly fine if you're okay with the monthly subscriptopns and equipment costs.

I would like to have it but am not paying the high cost that Harley wants for the receiver. I have unlimited data on my phone still and use spotify to stream music while on the bike. On my truck I pay 20-25 bucks for it every 6 months. You just have to deal with them and you can get Siriusxm for next to nothing. They are a pita to talk with going through 10 different levels of people tho.

I agree if it came on the bike I would sign for service. Unlimited data I'll stream.
