How many members would be willing to remove the boom box audio/navigation system for a normal radio? Myself I am tired of dealing with my radio problems, software updates, sticking navigation, and so on... I have over 1000 bucks into it already and still gets blown away by a older model with a lesser system. Don't get me wrong, it sounds good at 1/2 volume with amp turned less than 3/4 up. I'm flashed and it was tuned by a professional.. The flash takes most of the DSP away, but at higher volumes it seems to return.

I just purchased a '14 with full boom audio upgrade and its really awesome! I am coming from a car audio background so I was not expecting much from saddlebag speakers or fairing speakers but those babies rip! The upgraded fairing speakers rock...

Heard great things about the boom audio.. But I Won't shell anymore money to HD for there audio products

Papabear,
I agree! I bought a 2014 FLHX. I did not want the FLHXS because I did not want the bigass infotainment center found on the Special. I am a music person. If I'm not listening I am playing Blues on guitar. When I'm riding my scooter I will play music only when I'm out on the highway. Around town and in heavier traffic the sound system is off because it is more important PAY ATTENTION! Actually this is the first bike I've had with a music system so I'm used to cruising just listening to the bike.
For many years I have had high end audio equipment in my home and vehicles and I will say that in my opinion the BOOM audio does an adequate job and I enjoy it when I use it. Sure, I could throw money at it but for my use it funtions fine.
As far as GPS is concerned I have always maintained that if I don't know where I am I shouldn't be there! HA! Part of riding a bike is getting off on side roads and exploring unknown territory which can be done without GPS. If I do need to find my way I check my phone GPS.
I'm terribly old school but but I guess that's what happened in the last 150K or so of motorcycle riding.
Something for everyone!

Low & Slow,

Blues

I have found a full replacement for the boom 6.5 and will be installing it after i get back from cruise. I will post a review of the sytem and where to get it after the install as well.

Which brings me to the fact that i will have a boom 6.5 with comms module headset and both cvo and regular com cables for sale. Hit me up if youre looking to upgrade i will be making a killer deal.

Mine is "adequate" for my needs although I am watching the forums for a "mild" upgrade most likely with our sponsor J & M.

Evlink2006 I was thinking on selling my 6.5 boom to someone with the 4.3.. There is one color that did not come with the 6.5 option. (Is your replacement the same as the one I have linked?)

bluesbelly- I agree about the GPS. That's part of the adventure. The few times I tried to use it; running low on fuel off the beaten path in Milwaukee it didn't work.. The group I was riding with (all pre 14's) couldn't believe it

For me I can't ever see replacing the radio, I have yet to have any issue with it.

Yes and no. Its that kit but with a Sony head unit installed and programed to work with the stock controls, pre mounted speakers, Core charge for the speaker boxes refunded when return old ones, Arc Audio amp and Focal speakers. Its the level 3 speaker amp package with the replacement head unit.

Same here. Other than small stuff but nothing major to the point i would deal with the headache of putting something else in.
