My SGS has noticeable lateral play in trans output shaft.Dealer says some do and some don't. This is front to back shaft movement and nothing to do with shift arm or other linkage.Been this way since new and now 9,000 miles later,no leak from seal. Has any other owners noticed this lateral slop in output shaft.I would think output shaft to case bushing has excess clearance but must be acceptable since seal does not leak.

The bearing fit in the case can be loose radially. The service limit is .0017". There should be no end play (in-out motion).

Thanks hulkss, at least now I know the acceptable play. Output shaft seal must be really flexible for that movement of shaft.
