Trip Odometer

I have 2015 standard, This morning I noticed trip A was reading 10 miles which I know was incorrect since I use it to track oil change intervals. I then switched over to trip B and it was reading 9438 which I knew was incorrect because the bike only has 4789 actual miles. I stopped at a light and zero both. When I started I watched trip A go from zero to 16 miles in less than a mile. Trip B did as well. The actual odometer is tracking mileage correctly. I called two dealers one being where I purchased the motorcycle from and the other I chose because it is closer to my home. Both service managers said they have never ever have heard of anything like that happening. I scheduled an appointment with the dealer that I bought the bike from. He said that he would ride it and verify that the trips are actually responding as I had explained and if so he would have to contact Harley to find out what they would want him to do. I was wondering has anyone had this type of problem with their trip odometer and if so what was done to correct it

Thanks

I haven't had that problem but my friend with a 2015 SGS had an issue where the trip odometers switched from miles to kilometers and wouldn't switch back, than locked up completely, not updating and not responding to the switch. the Harley dealer said they were having a lot of issues with that switch cluster especially after it had gotten wet. They replaced the cluster under warranty

Thanks FJH, funny you should mention switch getting wet, my SG sat out in the rain at work last week all day. I thought the instrumentation is water proof, if it turns out to be the problem with mine I guess I will invest in a day cover.

Thanks
again
