Just curious, does anyone know why HD stopped installing the "triple tree wind baffle" starting on 2014 touring models ?

HD used to install them on touring models up to 2013... They stopped providing the factory baffle on 14 touring models...

If this inquiry was covered in a prior post I apologize but I could not find any older content in older posts...

Thanks for any info...

Chris

I was told because the 14'S sit lower, regardless they need one for the 14'S.

They don't fit either... they still sell them, but for 13 and older... on mine ABS lines are in the way... fork fangs do wonders though... no more 'beard-lift'

The re-routing of the brake lines and redesign of the fork tree negated the previous designed part. I actually made my own from thick black plastic sheeting.

Ok great thanks. I think there is a market for these. Well at least one to go on my bike!

I have been considering snaring a black plastic take off stocker and making an aluminum or plastic spacer so that the 13 and earlier model can be used w 14 and newer. My question: how effective is the Tripple Tree baffle and would it be worth while messing with a design modification. Anyone?

The triple tree deflector offers a bit more wind deflection that comes up from the front of the gas tank but it is a small amount. Add that to the a good recurve shield, fork and fairing lowers and you have a very calm air pocket to ride in.
