So I purchased a Vance & Hines Fuelpak FP3 3 weeks ago and installed it no prob. I used a canned MAP with the OEM exhaust and high flow A/C because I threw a K&N Filter on the bike. I just recently installed a V&H Pro Pipe and to my surprise, the FP3 is incompatible and doesn't have the MAP for a Pro Pipe with high flow exhaust because the FP3 is the California Edition (basically slip-ons). I contacted V&H customer support, and they basically said since I live in California, to get a CARB legal exhaust. My question is, does anyone have u table MAP so I can manually input the numbers so my exhaust can run more efficiently? I'm currently running the high flow intake with catalytic Power Duals and Monster Rounds MAP. Should I try Auto Tuning, or is it a waste? Thoughts on options...

You should auto tune it, the canned maps are just there to get you close. You'll have to auto tune it for the best results.

You should start a plan to overthrow your state government!!!!!!!
Tell your commie RESEARCH BOARD to HUG "something else"...
...Besides trees!
...or just MOVE back to AMERICA!

Sorry, this is the first thing I read when I woke up at Daytona Bike Week this morning! Layin' in bed listening to the SOUND of REAL AMERICA. It's an INTERNAL COMBUSTION CELEBRATION over here on the RIGHT COAST.

I JUST "HAD" to comment.

We Feel for you guys out there. Good luck bud.

Are you telling me that YOU have a CARB edition FP3? So now V/H makes 2 separate tuners... one for CA and one for everyone else? This sounds absurd!!!!

So you CANT SEE a map for the Pro Pipe!?!?!

wow... just wow.....

EDIT:

So... after reading your post again... which do you have a Pro Pipe or Monster Rounds with Powerduals? Either way.... I can't believe that you CAN'T flash a map that is compatible BECAUSE you are in CA... this is CRAZY!!!!

GlideLife,
You're spot on...I'm not understanding the plethora of restrictions in this state. People continue to upgrade their sleds, but have to be careful around LEO not to catch attention. Enjoy bike week...I wish it was sunny and 80 degrees in Cali too.

Spazz,
Yup, they have 2 tuners out there...one for 49 states, and the other here for the restricted California residents. To answer your questions, I'm running the Pro Pipe, but using the power duals and monster rounds MAP. There are only 2 MAPS that have a full exhaust configuration that I can flash. The rest are slip-on MAPS...sad I know, but that's my reality. I think when the weather gets better, I'm going to burn a full tank of gas (or two) to autotune Big Booty Judy. Cheers!

Unreal... thanks for the clarification.

BTW... I have a good thread to read on Auto-tuning with the FP3... explains how to get the MOST out of your FP3 and AT... any questions... hit me up.

I feel your frustration, I too live in this restrictive state I only wish you would've asked earlier what to buy as there are options to obtain the non California version.
There are a couple of shops here in southern California that somehow can obtain it for you that I know of and I heard of a online site that also will do it, I myself went thru a family friend in Mississippi who overnighted it to me.
Not sure if you can get rid of the one you have due to vin now being locked in but if you ever want to get the non cal version let me know and I can help with that

Just a thought here but if anybody in the future needs a non Cali one have it sent to me in Nevada and I will ship it back to you. Sometimes you have to play the game to get what you want. Would be more then willing to help a brother or sister out to get the right tool for the job.

Just my 2 cents and offer for help.

TomA,
Thanks for helping hand brother...I'm a lot wiser now with the predicament that I'm in. I wish I can rewind a few weeks back when I pulled the trigger on the FP3, it's a great product but now I'm stuck with it.

mvrigger,
I wish I had the network now to buy the non-Cali version. I guess I'm going to try my best to autotune my sled when the weather's right again.
