I'm an old Roadstar rider but just bought a used 2014 FLHXS and wishing to change the stock mufflers for a better and deeper HD sound. However, I also don't wish to have my aftermarket mufflers drowning everything else out especially while cruising at higher RPM's.

Will the V&H Twin Slash Round Slip-Ons serve this purpose as they're priced right?

Will I have to have the air/fuel mixture adjusted after installing the V&H mufflers?

Thanks!

If you want to stay with the stock head pipe and have a loud deep sound, but not too loud, I recommend the Screamin Eagle Street Cannons. Read the comments here under the reviews tab: street-cannon-performance-slip-on-mufflers

Per Utah Harley: "For a rider that wants to cruise at lower speeds the Screamin’ Eagle Street Cannon mufflers have made the best low end torque of all the mufflers we tested regardless of the head pipe that was used."

DaPhoenix, I just put these exact pipes on last week and they absolutely fit that bill. Great deep Harley sound that can be heard in town and it tones out nicely at cruise and I can easily hear my radio over it. Contact cm_Jeff and Coastal Moto on this forum for a great price too.

I have a 12 SG and put V&H Twin Slash Rounds on after wife said "Go get your Pipes!! I can't hear it when u come home!!" Now i have the Dresser Dual headers also but you can hear them when you want to and at cruise speed they are perfect in my opinion! Plus can't beat the price.. & wished i was a member here before i bought from my dealer!! I have not used cm_Jeff but hear all good things!!

I've had these exact pipes about a week. They're great! I test rode a new Ultra with the Street Cannons and thought they were a flop - no heart. I agree with dlsorensen!

I have a 14 FLHXS and put true dual headers on with the V&V Twin Slash Round tips. I love the sound produced. You can be heard when you are opening up the throttle but it really tones out nicely at cruising speeds.

Gentlemen, thank you very much for your insightful replies and first inquiry using this forum. Will be buying this set of V&H.

I have the twin slash on mine and as long as you don't do the air cleaner you wont need to worry about the air fuel, they sound great ...........

Same set up here as well, with de-cated head pipe. Sounds great, may have lost a little low end. But can't beat the bang for the buck!!

Aloha Jeff, & others for your advice. Did reach out to Jeff a few days ago, who was very helpful. These V&H should be on my 2014 SGS this weekend.
Thanks for the props!

DaPhoenix, you can call or email me (jeff@coastalmoto.com) and I will definitely get you discounted pricing.

Thank you!

Thanks for sharing as I was concerned about the need to have the 2014 SGS air/fuel mixture adjusted since I am only installing these V&H for now. Save me a few bucks until I install the K&N air filter.
