What's the best Mod you've done to your ride...?

Just curious what everyones best modification has been to their scoots...
Wether it be an add on, a changed something or even a removed something - new seat, bars, stereo or anything that you think was the best thing you did to your bike. Benefit, performance or appearance or anything else...
Washing it doesn't count :)

For me it has to be the shock / fork spring upgrade. I ride a 2010 Street Glide that I bought new and literally suffered through a harsh ride for the first two years I owned the bike before putting on a new set of Suspension Technologies F-Tech Series Shocks combined with a set of Patriot Suspension Genesis Fork Springs. I truly cannot say enough how much of a difference this made to the overall comfort and handling of the bike. While I liked riding my bike with the OEM set-up, I ABSOLUTELY LOVE riding it with the Suspension Tech / Patriot Suspension upgrades.

#1 has to be adding fork fangs. I owe you guys a round for getting me pointed in the right direction on those. The result is a ride with zero buffeting at any speed. The guys who ride without fairings don't understand that buffeting is NOT the same a wind in your face. 30 minutes of severe buffeting leaves you feeling like you just went 3 rounds with Mike Tyson. Without fork fangs, my bike would have been more comfortable ride without the fairing.

I would add the 10" Windsplitter to the above. I think the combination of the fork fangs and the Windsplitter made the difference, but I attribute the change mostly to the fork fangs based on my experience with them on other bikes.

#2 would be doing the Hogtunes upgrade. Night and day difference over the stock system and quite affordable.

#3 would be passenger floorboards. Your passenger will appreciate them over the pegs.

Soon to come.....

#4 Jackpot header with V&H Slash Ovals and FP3 tuner

#5 Seat with backrest. Leaning towards the LePera Maverick. Some say they are like sitting on concrete and others say it's like the living room couch. I know that the gel seats initially feel hard until they conform to your butt.

#1 for me was Changing bars to 10" Yaffe bagger bars. The stock riding position was just wrong for me pulling me too far forward and riding up on the tank, I like this position much better, and didn't break the bank either, $144 and 3 hours time.

Second was a decent seat, Tallboy worked well for 5k but now the mustang dual tour is even better.

How do the Yaffe bars compare to the stock? I like the styling but the stock position and height is just right for me. A little more pull back would be OK but definitely nothing higher.

My list . . .

For ride comfort,

#1 Cee Devil Windshield-Dark Gray Tint-7in (recurve)
#2 Fork-Mount Wind Deflectors
#3 Low-Profile Leather Bucket Seat-52095-08A
#4 Adjustable Rider Backrest
#5 Adjustable Air Deflector - Dark Smoke
#6 Mid-Frame Air Deflector

For sound,

#1 Screamin’ Eagle Street Cannon Performance Slip-On Mufflers
#2 Boom! Audio Stage I High Performance 6.5 speaker upgrade

For safety,

#1 Rear Saddlebag Guards
#2 Electra Glo LED Saddlebag Run/Brake/Turn Lamp

It wasn't just one thing, but a combination of several to get it right!

For me, the best so far has been for comfort - and it's 16 in chubby bars. Yes, apes on baggers always starts a debate, but coming from softballs and choppers, I just couldn't deal with those stock bars.
The Danny Gray seat helped too - lowered me down and back some.
For looks - I'm still working on that - maybe a better looking rider than me would help.

I guess the single best thing would be the JWSpeaker E2 headlight for better light at night and more visibility to cages.

Dual Ceramic coated head pipe, eliminates the right hand thigh bake off!

Performance bang for the buck.
HD max flow (snorkel)
V&H true duel headers
RC 4 inch mufflers
Best upgrade part was the V&H fuel pack 3 tuner that brought it all together
I don't race I just waned it to breath.
The bike sounds awesome neighbor across the street says his wife "tingles" when I fire it up ;-)
Pulls like a freight train.

I haven't owned my 15 SG for very long and don't have many miles on it yet, so there are many more things that I plan to add/change on it. But so far, the best things have been:

1. 8" LRS light tint recurve windshield. With the stock one, my glasses vibrated so bad over 45 mph, I had trouble seeing.

2. Mustang riders backrest. Now I can ride longer with far more comfort and less back pain.

3. Screaming Eagle Street Cannons on stock head pipes. I happened to be in the parts dept. of my dealer, and these were laying on the counter, and looked brand new. Parts guy tells me that a customer bought them, but was not happy with them, so returned them. Got em for half of the original price, and am very happy with the sound "for now". Plan on a full exhaust later, and should be able to recoup most of what I spent on them. Have heard that they do not sound very good on aftermarket headers, but they do sound great on the stock ones.

Hard question to answer with just one. Ceramic header, klockwerks 6.5 windshield, Bassani DNT's and audio upgrade. I'd probably say the header and windshield are neck and neck. They both improved comfort and ride-ability. But, the Daymaker headlight and Bassani's, drastically improved safety.

Seems like most people's list contain sheilds, pipes and/or seats...
Now I know what business to start! JK
