I got my first one from a friend for $250 ( he works at HD )used... but still under 6 months old. I was the BLACK one.

About 2 months after install, I noticed the light was diminished at night and the front lens was cloudy.. like the seal for the lens had been compromised or something. In May, I went down to my dealership and showed them... they were perplexed! They had NEVER seen this happen on a Daymaker LED. They immediately pulled one off the shelf and let me change it in the parking lot... COOL!

Now... here it is.. the end of July and guess what.... the lens is cloudy again! Feeling kinda irritated over this, I went back down to my dealer and showed them once again. Since May, they have had 4 black Daymakers come back for the same issue.... even one of the parts guys has the issue.

There is a NEW part number for the Daymaker ( it could be longer, but I found out yesterday)

Since I really don't want to deal with this again, I had them order the chrome one instead of the black since I have NEVER seen the chrome model cloud over in the least.... it will be here early next week.

For comparison purposes... here is a web pic of a NEW black Daymaker... crystal clear...

Here is mine (off)....You can see the cloudiness...

This was hard to capture on my S4, but when on... you get a milky reflection off the inside of the lens, deminishing the output...

Now this is the one I will be getting...

Damn that sucks on an EXPENSIVE part too!

Luckily... as I stated... I only paid $250 for the first one... lol! I don't know if I would have dropped over $500 for a new one...but I gotta new one coming... again!!! LOL! Ain't warranties great!?!

That's does suck, did they charge you for the chrome one?

No extra charges at all for the chrome..

... My dealer is really helping me out taking it in on warranty... Luckily it's not a MAJOR component that would require down-time. Letting them deal with Daymaker directly makes it very easy to deal with.

That's a good dealer you have. I'm with you about the $500, that is a lot for a headlight, but I do want a LED headlight to match the rest of my lights.

Yeah... they treat me very well. I have a great re-pore with everyone from the GM, service, parts and sales. Mojo knows first hand... he has been there with me in May of this year.

I fully understand wanting all your lighting to match.... it's something that must be done.

Sorry to hear this Spazz. I wonder if it has to do with the black finish oxidizing? I just looked at my chrome model really close and its crystal clear still. Props to Chesters HD for taken such good care of you!

Not sure... but like I said... they have a COMPLETELY NEW part number now... kinda conspicuous... ya think?

What's the new part number. So I can see witch one I have.

Sent from the mobile leash

I am not sure at this point... I didn't ask for it. They just informed me of it when I talked to them to order another. I will find out though.
