Just bought a 2014 SG. My first HD.
Transition from the Vulcan 900 is interesting.
My first impression is the floor boards and brake pedal seem pretty cramped.
I am not that tall (5'11") but it kinda feels like my knees are bent too much.
I found an extended pedal at Softbrake. Are there any other alternatives??

Also the shifter peg seems narrow and I have to hook my boot in to shift.

Anybody else experience these ergo challenges?

They sell a floor board pan that moves them foreword a about an inch.

You can also try highway pegs, doesn't help for city but once out on the highway they are nice.

Bedowinn, I feel cramped too...mostly cuz I'm 6'4 and I have highway pegs on my bike, they do make a heck of a difference for stretching out comfortably. As far as the suggestion that moving the boards forward an inch will help, maybe-maybe not, depends on your "geometry"...on my V-Star I have 4" control extensions and they help but it's not a night and day difference.

I need to figure something out too, what i mentioned earlier is what i was looking into for myself, I'm 6-1 and my knees bend too, so i will also look for suggestions.

I'm 6-3 and going with a Mustang seat that's lo-profile but moves me back about an inch and a half.

I drag the boards enough as is. I won't move them out, however, I can see getting the HD board pans that are an inch farther forward and the extended brake lever from soft brake. Gotta wait till I ride it some more.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I'm first going to try a different seat. The dealer has some demo seats. If that does not cut it I'll get the extended brake pedal from Softbrake. Still, I need find an extension for the shifter peg, or make one.

I'm 6'5 and all my boards moved out 1" and fwd 2". Controls are moved fwd 2". Mustang vintage wide solo moves me back 1 1/2".

Coming from a Victory Cross Country with big a$$ floorboards, I feel the same way although I'm only 5'-10". I did try the highway pegs but didn't like the feel nor the look of something added to engine guards (personal opinion). So right now, I'm looking at either Arlen Ness or Yaffe's wedgy boards. A bit pricey especially if you do the whole dress up with shifter pegs and brake pedal but the are as long as my Vic's and I enjoyed stretching my legs full extent while still having my feet on the floorboards. Still not completely sold out on these though so, if anyone has other suggestions, they will be welcome :)

Got a mustang wide tripper with driver back rest I'll give you a deal on. Used it 400 miles, my back surgery was a pain, I needed a bit more around l5 went sundowner.
