n00b question...
but how does the SAFETY RECALL INFORMATION site work.

If you put your VIN # in and it says OPEN recall: does that mean YOUR bike has not been fixed for the recall listed and you should go ASAP?

If you put your VIN # in and it says CLOSED recall: your bike been fixed for that recall?

...I've put my VIN in and I'm seeing CLOSED for the hydraulic clutch system actuator issue, but no other issues mentioned around this useful site.

TIA

I know I have the clutch actuator recall. It is also shown as open on safety recall site. I received the recall notice last October. From the start the dealer has been telling me " we don't have parts to fix this, we only get a couple part kits a week, don't worry we have had no bikes with an actuator failure yet." Just last week I stopped to check again. Same story. No parts. Is anyone else getting this from the dealer when you try to get the recall taken care of?

I would think by now they would have gotten enough in stock to fix your bike. Is this the dealership you got the bike from or just one close to your location. I know there are a few bikes left out there that need the recall repair but they should at least contact you when they get kit's in. If they are just giving you the run around find another dealer that wants business.

Is this a small dealership or a big one ?? If they want to keep me coming back they better step up and help me out. Get your salesman involved and have him pressure the service guy in a conversation together with you and make them commit to getting this done fast. Or let them both know your moving on to somewhere that will help you out. Just my 2 cents if they are playing you. Take the money somewhere else and you have their attention pretty fast if they don't care you just learned it's time to move on to somewhere that dose.

Here where I live the closest dealer is 75 miles but I use one that's 260 miles away because that's where I bought my bike and they go out of their way to get my bike serviced when needed. I understand being busy and having to schedule your bike in right now it's a 2 week before I can get an appointment unless it's an emergency. Good luck
