I bought the complete LED turn signal conversion kit for my 2014 SGS Item: GEN200-KIT-BCM. I have H-D passing lamps so I selected the red rear and amber front kit without the white Dynamic Ringz.

Wow, they are like burn your eyes out bright in a straight-on narrow beam and not so good off axis out of the main beam. A diffuser is needed to spread the beam pattern.

I found some diffuser sheet made for LED signs here: Acrylite LED
It is a colorless diffused sign grade acrylic .118" thick plastic sheet with a matt finish on both sides. I ordered a square foot of it and cut out some disks using an adjustable hole saw in my drill press. The disks drop into the bullet turn signal lenses like this:

Here's some pictures of them off, and on at running light power. They look pretty much the same at most angles of view now and are still more than bright enough. I really like the way they light up now. The amber individual LED's show up bit more than the red ones.

Here's a video (diffusers installed) way off to the side with the turn signal on. It's still so bright that my iPhone can't capture it with correct color:

I took some photos today in direct sunlight where turn signals can be hard to see. All photos are of Custom Dynamics LED turn signals which also act as brake lights in the rear. Keep in mind these are smoked lenses so they just look grey when off like the photo in the first post of this thread. The photos are pretty realistic. The Custom Dynamics lights work great in all conditions and from all directions with the diffusers in the lens caps.

First as normally installed, tail lights only.

Now with one side flashing.

Now with diffusers installed, tail lights only.

Now with diffusers and one side flashing.

Here is a more inline view with the diffusers and emergency flashers on so this would be same as brake lights (except the LED strips light up also with the brakes).

How about a short video of the rear turn signals with the four way hazards on with a diffuser in on one side and not the other ?

You are one knowledgeable dude thats for sure you always have useful info to share and it is appreciated.

Good suggestion, now keep in mind the dynamic range of this iPhone video, even in the sunlight, gets overloaded by the brilliant red of the Custom Dynamics LEDs. The still photos in the previous posts were taken with a Nikon SLR and are true color but they can't really portray the high illumination level. Guess which side has the diffuser in it.

Nice work Hulkss guess I'm going to pick some of these up. Did you get the whole kit?

Making decisions easy! Thanks!

I've had the CD LED kit on my SGS shortly after buying it and if anyone is going to sell any diffusers I'd be in for two.
I have the LED's with the ringz on the front blinkers so dont think the diffuser will work with them.

Just thought of something is this material your using the same thing used in military flashlights as a white diffuser ?

They may even be the right size if not they are close some may be able to locate those at a local army/navy surplus rather then having to order a sheet from the link you provided ?

Anyone here have one of those flashlights with the white lens on hand that can try it ?
I use to but have no idea where it would be now.

If that works... military surplus stores carry the 'moonbeams'

Believe it or not I just located one of my old military flashlights and the lenses are 1 1/4" only had red and clear though so I didn't try one out on the LED's.

I noticed the other day they are sold out of the material you posted about.
Assuming I was looking at the right thing. lol

They have it if you select the slightly thicker stuff which may work even better. Should fit OK I believe.

Definitely gonna have to try this out! Thanks! That looks great and will make ya more visable for sure
