All these years I don't buy a Harley because of all the stories I have heard about being unreliable and prone to break down , thought they were just the stories of people who where envious of wanting a Harley. Well my new 2014 street glide with 1200 km is being towed into the dealer on Tuesday, has shut off on me several times and is now knocking. Maybe I should of listened , maybe they will loan me my councours that I traded in.

Every maker has its problems. Yamaha bought back my Super Tenere after the wiring harness melted. My Suzuki Bandit had the pistons replaced due to a defect and I won't even go into the BMW issues. I understand the frustration, but I would withhold judgement until you see the resolution.

All is not lost this can happen with any brand of bike. Keep us posted on what the issue's are please.

Good news then your back into the wind and that's all that really counts.

Now see there? It wasn't Harley's fault, it was Delphi's !

Yep. Shut bike off at a buddy's place and that was it. Harley replaced it under warranty.

There must be an issue with some of these ECM's. That's three I've heard of so far that have bellied-up along with 4 motors-two of which were 110's.
