I know this is the general discussion area. I already checked the suspension area but not getting the help I need. I really would like to know if anyone in this forum has installed a Fat Baggers Inc. seat lowering kit and or a Bikers Choice seat lowering kit. I have a 2014 Street Glide Special. I am seriously thinking of going this route because it doesn't mess with factory suspension at all. Its a Little costly this I know. Thanks for any help.

How much are you trying to lower it? Mean City cycles can lower and narrow your seat pad by 1.5" and use memory foam inside. Mine cost about $135 plus shipping.

about 2 inches I believe to get flat footed. I am on the balls of my feet. Going forward and such no issue just the backing up is a real issue. I have a reach seat but I believe the regular seat is even better than the reach seat? I must be built different (LOL) How do they lower the seat???? shaving and removing foam?

I just ordered the FBI drop seat kit. I sat on a bike with one and it allowed me to back up his bike. Spendy but worth it.

RJJAXX,

I spent $330 on a reduced reach seat from the dealer AFTER I demo'd it. For me at 5'7" and 30 inseam, I was on the balls of my feet constantly and trying to back up as you already know can be a task.

The seat I have now, lowered me 1/2" and brought me forward 1/2"... now it doesn't seam like a lot, but the way they narrow the front of the seat for the inner thighs is the key to this. I now can sit flat-footed.

If you don't want to drop a lot on something like this, have your seat modified... I may do this to my stock seat just to have it when I'm not 2-up...

Mean City helped me out also. Just remember you will be with out a seat for about a week. I sent mine out on a Monday, had a Thursday appointment with them, they completed it on Wednesday when they received it and sent it right out. I had it back on my back Saturday and was riding.

Put a deposit down to try Mean City Cycle first. If this don't work I can still go with FBI lowering seat kit. Can't wait to get this all done and if it works then I can take what I saved and bling the SG. LOL!

Will keep everyone in formed of how this works out. So far dealing with Allen and Laurie has been pleasant.

I think you will be happy. After I got my seat back still wanted a little more so that's why I added the air ride. Even with doing the seat and air ride it's still cheaper then the drop seat kit.

When you say added air ride, what year do you have? and just adding the air ride lowered it that much.......Did you feel as if you sacrificed anything on the ride by going air? or maybe it feels better than the stock shocks. I don't feel this is at all any smoother than my Fat-boy. Nor does my wife.

I put the legends areo-a set up on mine. It will go from stock height to about 3" lower in seconds. I'm still playing with it to see what the best pressure is and also the best rebound setting is. It's not cheap, but what on a Harley is.

Here is a couple of pics for you. You can see the bike is with no air and full of air also a pic of the pressure gauge I used which is made by Arnott.

It's rough with out air, changed to rebound setting to 2 and changed the air pressure to 65 pounds and when I came to work this morning it road great. Very happy with it.

about 65 pounds

Liking that! Like you said with both cheaper than the lowering kit. bryan0994 I believe that is a 2014 correct
