13,000 on Rear Tire

I had to have my rear tire replaced, Got 13,000 miles out of it. Only had 2/32" tread left on it, the front has 4/32" on it.
Also the rear wheel bearings were shot & I had them replaced (under warranty ). I think that the front wheel bearings are also bad but will wait until I change the front tire to have warranty help with the cost.

I have 11,200 on mine and 2/32's front and rear.... going with Michelin Commander II's in January. I have read up to 20K on a set and figured I would give them a shot.

12K on mine, both front and rear probably have another 5k on them. I have concerns about noisy front bearing when leaning in curves.

Yes I had the Harley Shop put the same OEM tire back on. $290.95 for tire plus labor at $90 per hr.
My bike had a slight rough feeling when I would corner, that is why I had then check my wheel bearings. I know of another individual with a 2014 Harley that had to have both front & rear wheel bearings replaced.
They also replaced the rear sprocket isolator, It is an inspect for wear at each rear tire change in the service manual pg1-11

Not sure which way I will go but have had good luck with Metsler 888's. The old bike has 18,000 on the tires and not showing much wear just yet of course the kid is riding it now. Have heard good things about a lot of different tires and then some horror stories about others so will do some thinking and investigating about it before I replace these.

I checked the Michelin website to check these tires out, unless I'm doing something wrong seems Michelin doesn't know what they are doing w.r.t. the SG. They think we have a 17" front tire. I did find the correct rear tire size but not the front.

Im getting mine from the dealer... i have free tires for life... if the price is comparable to what they normally sell for... they swap in what you want or you pay a difference

I just rounded out 13,500 on my stock rear....just wore through the entire outer layer of rubber. Was a good tire. Considering staying with the stock Dunlop as is seemed to do very well for me for both long hauls and shorts rides....longest ride so far 5000miles round trip 10 days. Unless anyone can convince me otherwise at least...

I was hoping that Michelin and or Metzler would have the front tires for the 19" rims we have, but no dice. I have written both of them and not on the books yet to be produced. Dunlop American Elite 2nd generation will my next set before I roll to Sturgis this year. You can get a set set from J&P cycle for $296 shipped no tax. Plus Dunlop through 4/30 has a $50 rebate for these tires. SO front and rear for $246.

I've got 12,500 on my set now and they look good for another 4-6k. I get mine from my dealer, they discount $50 ea. I know some of the "Jarheads" here got a free package when they bought their scoots but there was no spiffs when I bought in late August.

Have over 19 k on stock tires ... Getting new ones put on tomorrow. That's better by about 9 k than the rear on my 2006. Went with the Dunlop elite ... No Michelin front yet.

Mojo, i had this same very noise, almost like a truck with mud tires coming up on me. I just put on American elite 3 tires on, noise is GONE. I also had cupping on the rear tire. Indy said the noise was from the ****ty stock tire.

Just an FYI, I too had the loud roar coming from the front tire while going around curves. I thought it was the bearings so I had the dealership check them out. They said they were fine. The tires had 13,000 miles and started to show serious wear. I went ahead and replaced them due to some discounts and rebates available. With the new tires on the noise completely disappeared.

New Dunlop elite on today... Same deal... Mud tire noise gone. I did get 19k out of the stock tires ... I'll take it!

Question for you ? Are you changing out front rim? The reason I ask is because they don't currently make a Commander II to fit the 19" rim. Or did they start making them and I missed it?
