Did I break something? My air temp shows 2 dashes.

Is it too cold to show the temp (30s)?

My bike is showing no codes via the diagnostics.

Thanks.

I know there is a temperature sensor in there somewhere, but not sure exactly where. Perhaps a plug might have come loose? Typically a missing temp sensor wouldn't throw a diagnostic code.

Not same problem your having but my temp always shows elevated temps compared to actual real temperature. If it's 55 outside my bike says 62 for example...but it's a motorcycle so who cares right ? Lol...

Though I think the EITMS runs off this so I think I would like it to work. I do agree who cares what the temp is outside.

Ugh, may be time to get a shop manual if no one knows...but I figured newer model bike...we'd all have less experience.

I think every vehicle with an exterior temperature readout does that, actually. My truck reads about 5 to 10 higher than actual, and my wife's car is about 5 higher also. Might be catching some of the heat from the engine.

I disabled EITMS a long time ago, but you may be right on the temperature being linked to it. Besides, with a brand new bike, you probably would want everything working the way it should anyway, regardless of whether or not you even use it.

I've often wondered about the accuracy of that readout as well. I guess that's why I seldom look for it anymore. As for EITMS, I disabled it as soon as I experienced it the 1st time, never needed it on this setup anyway with ceramic coated pipes!

Temp sensor is the front fairing so I don't think it's catching engine heat . Just sayin

Maybe not, but depending on its location in the fairing, it could be catching heat from the headlight too. At least for those of us that don't have LEDs.

Msquad, I'd still check the connections of the temp sensor, and if those are good, the sensor may have gone bad.

Thanks. I did find it and unplugged checked it out, I guess I'll order a new one and find out. They are like $10. It is also a good time to order a service manual too.

BTW, the one microfiche page I use to use doesn't seem to have '14 SGs so found a better page.

+1-I use mine quite a bit !

Mine seems to be pretty accurate. I have the led light so that could in fact make a difference

This has now fixed itself after the current software update. Didn't think about it being that. I checked wires, replaced the sensor. Well I'm glad it works again.

What update did you do. I just updated the radio and I still have 2 dashes. Brand new air temp sender as well. Wiring is good back to the ecu.

After I did the software update to the Boom Audio it started working again. Have done another update and it still works. Has worked fine since.
