Is there an easy way to tell if a Street Glide is a 2015 or 2016 model? VIN number, maybe? Thanks.

Motorcycle's have the same year designations as cars in the vin number. If you go to the end of the vin number and count back 8 digits starting in 2010 they started with the letter A. B would be a 2011. And so forth. So if your bike was a 2015 the 8th digit counting from the end would be an "E" a 2016 would be an "F". Or I believe if you count from the beginning of the vin number I think the 10th digit would be the year designation. Hope this helps

Hallelujah! It's an F. My bike is in Charcoal Pearl which, according to all the websites I looked at, was not a 2016 colour. I guess it must have been a colour for 2016 bikes in the UK. Anyway, thanks again for your help.

Mine is an F and I purchased it in March 2015...as a 2015 model. 2016s weren't even available then..

Pretty easy to explain they start selling the next year bikes in late August early September. That's how it works you start building them in 15 for the new year model.

Mine is a G it was built 11-2015 as a 2016 bike how do you explain that.
I would say that's normal. Aren't new year models available in late August?

I have a 2016 and mine also has a "G".

Yep, dealership has admitted it's a 2015 and have offered accessories at dealer cost price and free fitting. Not sure yet whether I'm going to settle for that. I bought it as a used bike from them, but the ad said "2016 Street Glide". They're saying that just meant when it was first registered by them, not the model year...

Fun time of year to ride to work, 65* coming in at 14:30, 42* going home at midnight! Other half really jumps when I crawl into bed and snuggle against her!

If they sold it as a 16 and it was really a 15 then that's fraud. No way around it just how it is.

Yep. Here in England we can take people to a "small claims" court for a low fee. I'm considering doing that.

I've come to an agreement with the dealership: accessories at cost price and free fitting. Pleased with that.

Dealers used to do that all the time. Like on an old CB650 I had it was Mechanically and even showed 79 on the bike, but was titled as a 1980.
Not sure how they got away with that stuff.

First Car I owned was registered as a 1966 Camaro even though the fist model Camaros were '67 models. The MFD was November 1966 and the first sold date was also in '66 so the state of Hawaii decided I had a '66 Camaro

Aloha.....Mike
