2015 SGS having issues with thumb drive

Thanks in advance for any help on this. I have about 500 songs on a thumb drive and unless I go and pick an artist the radio will stay on the same one. I can't shuffle the music. I have no issues with my ipod. Am I missing a setup somewhere?

Welcome to the fun. There is a way to but can't remember the exact steps. I know if you go in and pick a song it will continue to play that song. You have to go in the menu and pick all in a couple menus then pick another song to get it out of it's cycle. May take a couple tries to get it going again so have patience.

There's a 3-4 year old thread on this subject and Boom Box settings here somewhere. A few things to note:
Make sure your playlist doesn't have leader text between songs. ie: 001.title, 002. title etc. Then, make sure songs are NOT inside a folder but instead, at root level on the drive. Also in the Boom settings make sure you don't have "Scan" selected. Hope this helps!
