Twice this summer rode to the beach each time go about 200 miles stop to eat come back out to take back off bike starts and then shuts down. Let it sit for about 3 hours or more and it starts and runs fine. Took it to Pensacola Harley they replaced the intake valve flange said it was bent. Well same thing happened today got stranded out of town had a buddy drive down with a trailer to pick me up drove back around 100 miles stopped to get gas and it started up. Does anyone have any ideas what is causing this? Can't trust my bike to go out of town anymore.

I'm no mechanic..... but seems to me a bent intake valve flange(whateverthatis) would not be an off/on problem. Either it is or it isn't.
Mechanical issues typically aren't ok for a couple hundred miles, then rear it's ugly head.
Sounds more electrical/heat related to me..... but I'm not a mechanic.

WOW! I had a similar problem years ago with my roadking, it was new but the electric fuel pump was bad. They should be able to fix that problem with yours, but intake flange, not quite sure what they are talking about there.

thanks guys for your feed back. They did say intake flange I am thinking more electrical or fuel related not real sure but its going back today and get the problem taken care of.

Let us know what they find. Odd that it is shutting down and not throwing a code.
