Been riding bikes for over 30 years and this is my first Harley.

Kinda nervous about trading in my 08 Honda VFR800 as I really liked the ride on that thing. But getting older and needing a little more comfort got me wandering into the local HD dealer. Picked up my Black Street Glide Special on Friday with stage one and Rinehart racing slip ons and beat the rain home by 30 seconds, a good sign of things to come I hope.

Finding out just how good this bike is. Sounds spectacular without the Cats and with the new pipes, although I never heard it run stock. Rides even better, smooth, powerful and surprisingly nimble for a big bike. Looking forward to taking it up to my cabin in the Okanagan this weekend along 300km of British Columbian mountain highway.

Needless to say the memories of the VFR are rapidly fading. Should have gotten a Harley years ago. Officially converted.

Welcome and congrats! I'm new to the HD family as well. Just got mine about a month ago. Got a used 2014 SGS with 2600 miles on it. Practically brand new. But I did keep my other bike. It's also a 2014 but is a Ninja 1000. Right now I'm planning on keeping both but like you, am fading quick with the sport bike. Since it is paid for, I'm not in a real hurry. We will see.

I heard one other guy say it on here. First priority is not mods and parts but ride that baby as often as you can! Enjoy and welcome. The guys on here are a great help when you get questions. Everyone is great.
