I don't know if H-D still has this, but at one time you could go to a dealership and demo different windshields before you made a purchase.
The windshield that I use is from Freedomshields.com They also, as long as you don't remove the protective film, will let you try it out and return it if it doesn't work out. Shipping is on them. I use a 10" with me being 6"2' and the air pushes just over the top of my helmet. If I'm feeling froggy and not use a helmet I can wear a hat and not worry about being blown off. The price for a touring width shield is the same as the windsplitter your looking at. For $20 less, you can get a standard width one.
The plus sides to Freedomshield is that they are optically clear, no distortion, and are thicker. They are made of the same type of polymers that the "glass" around a hockey rink is made of.
