Aftermarket radio randomly won't power on?

Here's the scenario: I got my first Street Glide (2011) about a month ago, first thing I did was scrap the stock stereo because I couldn't hear it past 65mph....and it was cheaper than buying a Bluetooth module for the stock stereo!

I put in a mechless Pioneer head unit, Kenwood amp, and some Powerbass speakers with a PAC install kit. Nothing fancy, but not "swap meet" quality either.

On three separate occasions since installing it, the head unit has simply stopped powering on. The last two times it happened, I had to pull the fairing apart (big pain in the butt!) to check connections. After unplugging and reconnecting all the harnesses, it powers up like normal. When I last did this, I put the volt meter to the power and ground connections at the harness and I was getting power to the unit...but it didn't tell me much, since the head unit powered up as soon as I plugged everything back in.

Last night I was playing with the FP3, as I had just installed a set of cams, and the head unit stopped powering up again after flashing the ECM.

Should I be looking for a bad power or ground connection somewhere, or is there some sort of relationship between the ECM/anti-theft/radio/etc that I should be aware of?

Sounds to me like a power issue. Check your battery and connections there and make sure it's building the right power when running.

I would say a low battery, low amps. Most electrical issues don't go away. If you think have loose connection, then remove all and start over.

Had the chance to jack with it some more today. Turns out it's the harness connector at the radio
