Antenna Suggestions

I'm rethinking my antenna placement as I currently have the stock whip hidden through the frame with no AM reception. Any suggestions as I have the Air Wing rack and the HD shorty is still too long which would get interfere with a bag on the rack. Iv'e heard the HD fairing antenna is'nt better than the stock whip and I'm not sure I want to drop the $$$.

Appreciate any suggestions.

I removed the left bag which gives access to the stock whip antenna mounting bracket. Bending the tab on the bracket a bit will cant the antenna toward the rear but it still rides nicely in the slot of the valance. The picture shows the HD shorty mounted in the new position while I am holding the whip in the stock more upright position. It's an easy no cost mod.
I have the Airwing rack also and as you see it clears nicely and soft luggage fits with no contact. Reception is very good

Thanks I may give this a try and look for a shorty antenna.
