Anyone have Harley's bagger speaker system setup?

Sold My Rocker C to get the 2014 SGS for a number of reasons, and the radio was a big one. We learned that at about 55 mph, my wife can't hear the faring speakers. I don't want to buy a wired set up for her to listen because that seems to be a hassle unless you are on a long ride. Also, I don't know if both the wired set up for her would still play the regular speakers for me???

Anyhow, I am considering Harley's bagger speaker lids and speakers without the amp, because I am already about broke buying this bike and ad on's.

I see the speakers are aimed at the rider. Can the passenger hear these speakers at interstate speeds?

I have a week left to get 20% off any accessories I buy from the dealership I bought the bike from. I would like to know if I should jump on HD's setup or wait till next year and buy an aftermarket system.

Hit up BaggerJay.... and there are a few others that have posted in the audio section....

I have the HD setup and amp with upgraded fairings speaker. Even before the amp and upgraded speaker my passenger could hear the radio from the bag speakers just fine, no she says its too loud???

Ok, that's good to know. I read on another forum that when this guy bought the bagger speakers without the amp that the 6.5 Boom radio cut the power to the front speakers and it was not as loud with four as it was with two speakers. Maybe they did not install it right or something. This is promising. Thanks.

Yeah, I think I saw some of those, but I am trying to avoid mixing different rear speakers from the front or buying an all new set of speakers and amp because I want the most bang for the fewest bucks...

The rear speaker are not real loud. I was disappointed in them. Starting over I would do the fairing upgrade and amp first.

Lex,

I have the Harley setup on my bike with the amp and upgraded front speakers. There may be louder setups out there and that I won't argue. But mine is pretty darn load, last night one of my club brothers and I were riding home at right around 90 mph and his wife could still hear my system. I don't really know how much louder it needs to be then that? That just my input on the subject.

Is yours with or without the rear speakers?

I've got the upgraded system as well but instead of the speakers in the lids I put the speakers on the tourpack. And if wife not riding the tourpack just comes off.

I have the speakers in my saddlebag lids

I only have the upgraded front speakers and the amp too, my question is about the rear speakers in the saddlebags. I noticed that I have to turn down the bass so its clearer at higher volume riding, with the larger rear speakers is there any kind of filter or adjustment to push more of the bass to the rear speakers that can handle it a lot better? I know there is a software upgrade with the different setups.

Good or bad, I bought Harley's bagger speaker set up (without amp). They have to order the color match lids. The 6.5 Boom is designed to work with 4 speakers, so I bought the two that will fit in the bags, and the installation kit. I don't know if I will install this or let them do it. I will share the experience if I do it and do a review of some sort when it's done.

I just got mine today, took 6 weeks to get Black lids?! Anyways I'm deployed and will be home Thursday, plan on the install that evening, I've worked on scoots for a while so don't forsee any issues but will post update that evening and will be glad to offer assistance to anyone afterwards.

Thanks, July lucky and my dealer had a pair of black coming in today so I was standing there when the truck hit. 4-6 weeks is crazy especially for what they charge us. That's what a set of 22" tires for my truck cost vs a couple of painted fiberglass lids. Insane

Hurry back. Did you buy the kit with or without the amp? Either way, let me know how long it took to install. I may do most of or all of it (besides the dealer download).

Anyone have Harley's bagger speaker system setup?

Installed mine over the weekend, I previously installed the upgraded speakers and the amp so the saddlebag lids and running the harness up to the radio was pretty easy. I will say that what a huge difference in sound! It was amazing at the difference. The rear speakers will not work until the dealer does his magic and unlocks them in the radio. When I dropped it off at the dealer for my dyno tune and radio software upgrade I made sure to tell him exactly what I wanted to make sure they do it and oddly enough when I came to pick it up the dealer said they had never done the things I asked for, thank goodness I printed out the part about flashing the radio, then flashing the amp, then flashing the amp again after installing the software upgrade. I have seen several dealer installs up there before so I don't know how they didn't know about all of it, they were just was unlocking the rear speakers in the radio software before I guess. Just print out that page of the instructions and make sure they do it.

I have the full Boom Audio upgrade on my 2014. My wife says she has the best seat in the house with the saddle bag speakers. The whole system sounds awesome!

I had the speakers installed at the dealer partially due to the fact that I'd have to go there anyhow since they must do a software upgrade. The setup looks nice and sounds nice, but nothing special to me. I do think that this was a better route than upgrading the front speakers and buying an amp because the front speakers are too loud for me as they are. I was only interested in this because my wife could not hear the music at faster speeds. She said she can hear it now. I don't notice it and only notice my front speakers, but I think she is happy. I actually used the fade to send a little more to the rear and less in the front to be sure it's loud enough for her but not too loud for me. If I had the money to blow, I'd consider buying an amp for the rear or even for all 4, but I have other things I want to do on the bike first. Overall? I'd still do this again.
