I know a lot of folks have had no issues using Sony HU's but my concern is that they are not waterproof or even water-resistant, per Sony's website. Which leads me to my question if anyone has tried to use one of the HU's from https://insaneaudio.com/
They do have a few models that are 2DIN face with SingleDin body which may work. They are rated for weather and shock resistant, which makes sense considering they go into Jeep Wranglers.
I think the wiring harness and trim kit might be an issue but there are a lot of ingenious folks on here that could probably figure it out.
I have asked Sony numerous times to have a marine certified option for their HU's but no dice. There is a rumor that Rockford is working on a Nav unit for HD Tourers but who knows when or if that will happen. I am getting tired of waiting.
As far as a price point for the decks from insane audio, they are approximatley $1k give or take a few hundred.
