Anyone wear a full face helmet and what brand?

I've been using the Shoei J-Cruise and been pretty happy with it. I know there's not the protection of a full face but the face shield would have to help some. A little less claustrophobic also. Liner and cheek pads are changeable so you can custom fit if needed. I got the pin lock shield for it and I can't believe how well that works in the cold or rain.
On a side note I ordered a Cardo Sho-1 head set for it for my birthday. Cardo only markets it in Europe but it's built specifically for some Shoei helmets. Should be here next week.
I'll post a report when I get it.

The Shoei Neotec, that's a nice helmet. I like that the interior is removeable too.

Keep the replies coming, interesting getting everyones perspective on helmets they use.

Thanks.

A good helmet like Shoei or Arai will have your head feeling like its back in the womb.... very nice.

The same 50cm noggin will fit differently in various models because not all helmets follow the same internal shape. For example, the Shoei neotec is not as round of a fit (rather neutral between a narrow oval and round) as th shoei multitec provided.
With that out of the way-
I prefer modular helmets.
- I had an HJC- nice features, but it was kinda noisy. Not bad, but I figured there was something better out there.
- I had a Nolan N90- loved that helmet- especially the quick snap chin clasp--- I wish all helmets came with that. When it was time for a new helmet, I would have bought another Nolan, but I wanted to try out another fit.
- Now I have a Shoei Neotec. It is quiet (can hear pipes, music, and surroundings, but can't really hear any wind noise) and feels a bit more "plush" than my Nolan (this could be the newness) but it doesn't have the cool clasp. The placement of the latches and such don't seem quite right to me, but that could be because I still have the Nolan muscle memory. Shoei sells different cheek pads to fine tune fit, the ones that came with mine were like face squishers, so I ended up switching them out for a narrower pair.

All three of these are modular flip up helmets. All have an internal sun visor, ear speaker spaces, removable liners, and vent ports. The Nolan and Shoei were pretty good in regards to wind noise, and both fit my noggin shape a bit better than the HJC.

Webbikeworld has a big list showing their interpretation of the helmet shapes- plus all the other key stats and features for a number of helmet models.

I like a Biltwell Gringo. I want a full face, but still want an open air experience. If it's not raining, this is my go to. Biltwell also makes a killer 3/4. DOT approved, but a lower profile.

Excellent info everyone.

Mandrew, thank you.

I need to find a shop that sells the Shoei neotech. Looking to give this a go. Seems like a popular choice. Noggin' is another question.
I recall some shoei motorcross helmets that were huge on me given trying on the proper size. Maybe my Noggin shape wasn't compatible.

Either, I'm gonna try it out. I never realized that there is a head circum shape that needs to be considered and that diff manufact lean towards one side or the other.

Thanks !!

*Having a decent windscreen on your touring model should all but eliminate "bobblehead" as you call it.

I agree on this aspect I am 6'5" and I also have a hammock seat on my SG as soon as I put on a windsplitter on it my bobble head went away. I also feel a difference when big trucks in oncoming traffic pass me I don't get beat up by the wind as I used too. I wear a half helmet in hot humid weather in cooler / cold weather I wear a 3/4 with a retractable face shield, the HD Police model, go figure right lol. I did notice a difference when switching between helmets and the 3/4 helping with the wind but the biggest difference was changing out windshields. I am going to have mine tinted in a week or so with a spray tint.

I mostly wear a 3/4th helmet. I have a KBC modular that I dust off from time to time, well, when I lived on the mainland that is. Only really wore a full face when it was cold or rainy. I now have a Voss half helmet. It is the half helmet that I've been using here in Hawaii but I think I'm going to go back to a 3/4th helmet. Less wind noise and all.

Also got a bubble shield for the 3/4th helmet.

I know I'm a little late to the party with my response (and I wish I had the budget for a Shoei or Arai), but I picked up a Bell Qualifier DLX at the Progressive Motorcycle show in Chicago a couple months ago. It normally lists around $250, but they were on sale there for $200. It fits very comfortably, but the best thing about it is that it comes stock with a Transitions shield. Lastly, Bell's customer service is the best I've found. When I got the helmet home and inspected it more closely, I found 2 scratches near the rear exhaust vent. I sent the vendor from the show an email just to let them know, but not really expecting anything to come of it. Within 24 hours I had an email from both the vendor and a Rep. from Bell who apologized for the problem and sent a brand new helmet my way. When I asked where to send the other one back, he told me just to forget about it.

Sometimes it's about more than just the product; it gives me a great amount of confidence when a company stands behind their merchandise like that.

The modular FXRG is the way to go http://www.harley-davidson.com/store/fxrg-modular-helmet

HJC makes this helmet, so you can get the HJC version alittle cheaper. The main difference is the badge and the interior color is blue not black on the HJC branded version.

I got my FXRG helmet for 20% off. Its a great helmet, comes with the anti fog shield, it is very quiet, the shield doesn't have much shake if you ride with it up, the chin piece keeps you warm in the cold and the vents work good in the summer, the profile is good, the design makes sense the shield is easily removed for cleaning, and its comfortable.

Schuberth C3 Pro. Add the Sena 10u intercom and you will never turn on ur radio.

I have a Shoei RF1200. The issue I have is that I don't get enough wind to cool down the helmet. Bought a used 2014 SGS and the previous owner put on a taller windshield. The helmet stays very hot as not enough air passes over the top. Zero buffeting, but I think I may need to put the stock windshield back on.
