So after posting in your head pipe thread... about never having a leak.... me and my bride take a ride to Virginia City... about 1 hour total to get there. 30 minutes of twisties...

So 45 minutes in... I hear what sounds like and exhaust leak... yes... over the exhaust and the audio....

It's getting worse.... and we get into VC and park..... guess what.... flange is barley hangin on the rear jug with ONE NUT... and it's flush with the stud!!! Head pipe unseated as well.... great....

Well I calm down and have a beer ( OR TWO) at the Red Dog Saloon and walk back out to the sled... I start looking.... and low and behold!!! The nut fell off and got caught under the harness!

Walked into the antique shop and borrowed a 1/2" socket, extension and ratchet and all is good in Spazz's World once again....

DAMN YOU!!! LOL:cool:

LMAO!! Well if you need to replace the gaskets I can send you the Jims tool. I will have it in a week.

On a side note my pipes have still not arrived. I'm going to call CFR Monday to make sure who's sure who's dicking me around and then I'm going to go to the dealer and see what BS the parts manager can spew out of his mouth and then I'm going to call him on it with the dealership manager and owner present.

Just sitting here wondering did you already pay for these ?? Another thing keep cool and don't go off until the right time ask the questions and ask for it in writing e-mail or what ever before you get management involved. They will want to see this kind of information before they take your side over the parts dumbass.

Jan 31st the parts manager told me he called CFR and they said they would be shipped soon. Well it does not take 3 weeks for shipping from AZ to WI. I'm starting to think they never ordered them.

Spazz told me iirc chester's recently received a few sets for stock.

There won't always be an antique shop around to loan you tools. You may want to re-think what tools you have on the bike. ;)

Gunner.... I couldn't agree more.... gonna pick up a 1/4" dr socket set to keep in the bag....

Yeah, I did the same thing , picked up a 1/4" set at sears in a compact case. hardly takes up much space in the bags.

I use to carry a bag load of tools. Now I just keep the 1st Aid Kit, a cell phone and credit card. In all the years I've been riding I've never had to use any tools on my bike - just on other riders bikes.

Update on my CFR issues

I have called them 8 times and only talked to a woman yesterday. She took my contact information and said she would get back to me in 10 minutes. I'm still waiting for her call.

Well BB if the customer service is so good maybe it's time to change to something else. I know Vance & Hines will talk to you and probably lots of other pipe builders. Move on to something else or get them somewhere else and let them eat the storage. Sounds like they don't care about their customers anyway.

Good luck buddy

Well I finely got ahold of someone at CFR. My pipes ship next week supposedly. The chrome set badger ordered shipped today. Go figure.

I got loud with Badger because I took me calling CFR 18 times to get an answer on where my pipes where. To find out they did not order my pipes until after I dropped the scoot off for winter storage. That was a month after I ordered and paid for the pipes on top of that I was told by the parts manager they where shipping the first week of February and every time I stopped to check on the order the parts guy only said they are not here. No one ever said they would look into the issue. After all the issues stated above badger will not compensate me in any way. Because they are at the mercy of the vendor.

I would go with a different pipe but I loved the note of this pipe.
