Brake pad change

So I watched a few videos on brake pad replacement and some show that opening and removing brake fluid from the resrevoir before compressing the pistons is required while others leave the fluid reservoir sealed. Any definitive answers? Thanks

I have always removed the reservoir cap on any vehicle. If you have added fluid there, between pad changes, it will put pressure in the cap and possibly damage it. Plus it gives you a chance to see the condition of the fluid and to remove the excess if needed
