That could have been WAY worse.

I used to ride in the carpool lane when I lived in San Diego and people always are cutting in and out of that lane even though you are not allowed except in designated areas. Never got hit thankfully but cell phones are the biggest danger to riders.

I drive in LA traffic regularly. Everyday there are serious or fatal lane split accidents. I gotta believe Lane change laws open up a lot of accidents waiting to happen especially now that cellphones usage is so common even with laws prohibiting them while driving!
