Ok so I just traded my 2011 sedona orange SG for a new 2014 dark charcoal grey bad boy. I love it, but can't quite figure out how to take calls when they come over Bluetooth. Is there a microphone somewhere? Also, I can't read incoming texts and I have sms enabled. Can someone enlighten me? Thx

Somebody will be along to fully clarify I'm sure but the basic answer is (I think) that you need a wired headset into your helmet for any of that. I rarely ride with a helmet and use a shorty if I do so the BT functionality is useless for me (except for streaming internet radio from my phone to the bike).

That really sucks. Has someone figured out a little wired microphone? Kinda cuts down on the Bluetooth coolness factor to me

Sorry but there is NO BT Headset compatibility for the Boomless Box. HD did not add but a few older I/O's and BT is not one of them. I connect my smartphone to the USB and BT my LG730 head set to my phone. That works well for me.

What type of smartphone do you use Mojo. I can not get my Iphone to work that way. With it is hooked up to USB on the bike the bluetooth does not work to my Scala 9 Rider headset. Any ideas??

If your phone is paired with the bike unpair and try. I have the Sena SPH10H-FM and had problems till I unpaired it from the bike. Works great now.

GAFLHXS; I have an IPhone. I use a USB to iPhone cable to tie the Boombox and Iphone together (plus it gives me charging!) I then pair (BT) my iPhone to my LG730 headset/buds and I can also control the playlist from the left toggle switch. It works great in lieu of spending a small fortune for the HD headset and connector cable to the radio.
NOTE: Do not pair the smartphone to the Boombox! If it's already paired . . . UNPAIR it.

Does some sort of voodoo magic happen if you don't unpair it?

Thanks for the info. I did exactly that with my 14 SGS, Iphone, and Scala G9 rider headset. No luck. I unpaired Iphone from SGS. I connected USB between SGS and Iphone 5S. Then I turned on Scala and tried to pair with Iphone. No joy, settings show Iphone not connected with Scala while Iphone was connected via USB to SGS. I do have a LG730 headset at work, I will bring it home and try that. I would have liked the Scala rider to have connected, it has a boom mike and I could have used the phone if it had worked.

GAFLHXS- Go into your iPhone and delete every pairing and same on Boombox and start over and see if that works. Separately away from your bike can you pair the Scala to the phone?

On my unit;
On your Boombox screen go to COM, Phone, make sure Bluetooth is OFF
On your Boombox screen go to Spkr/Hdset, Music media, Audio Routing, all my selection are the speaker icon NOT the headset icon.
Not sure this last step makes any difference but that's what mine looks like.

Yes the Scala does pair to my iphone. I will continue to work with this problem. Your help is greatly appreciated. We shall see what happens.

I thought about springing for the console etc to use a wired headset but I decided the description I sent earlier worked good enough for me! I don't listen too often to anything but the wind anyway!!;)

Yes, something to be said about getting back to basics. Ride the damn bike and enjoy the scenery around you.

I've seen the threads about adding the wired console, but personally I found that to be overkill. I bought the J&M HSPT-H14S cable for $60 w/shipping and it works just fine. Simple install and I just plastic tied it to the other cables just under the fairing so you don't even notice it unless you are looking for it (comes with a weatherproof cap when not in use). Although a wired headset can just plug into the connector, I connected a Sena SM10 Dual Stream Bluetooth Stereo Transmitter to redirect audio to bluetooth in my helmet. My state doesn't permit stereo in motorcycle headsets, but the boombox lets you direct just GPS out the wired connector while continuing to have radio audio go out the internal speakers (I have my phone paired directly with my helmet bluetooth).

I'm also thinking of going this route but can you pair your phone with the bike and still connect through the headset? I want to use the voice commands from the bike's system.

Thanks and maybe you could post a few pic's on where you mounted/located the sena BT. I have sena BT headsets now for comm between bikes.
