Choices on engine build

All,
I am still trying to decide which combination I should go with to get the most HP out of my bike without going with new heads & throttle body with larger injectors. I want to do this once and be done with.

I heard that 110 is not a good choice but the same time I am seeing a lot of posts on how good it is. Then I am seeing 107 kit that is getting 110HP without the heads, with Woods 777 cam. I would like to be around 110HP with 107 kit without swapping out heads & throttle body & injectors.

Any help on pointing me to the right direction would be great.

My bike is currently in the shop but we have not decided on which kit to go with, don't want to do this again. Thought I reach out and see if I can get some ideas from those of you that already done it and have suggestion on what to go with and what to stay away from.

Thanks all!

If I can get these #'s then I am happy.....

Besides the info you get here, I would also talk to Fuel Moto. Write a list of questions and concerns before you call.

I know you don't want to get into doing head work, injectors and a throttle body, but if you're budget allows for an additional $1,300, I would do them. This price will get your stock heads done (full CNC job, bigger valves, heavy duty springs and milled), plus a new TB and injectors. However, if you're still set on not doing a full CNC port and valve job, at least have the heads milled by a reputable machine shop and stick with stock TB and injectors. My heads have been milled .030 and I am running .030 head gaskets with 6cc domed 11.0:1 Pistons with no clearance issues. I am new to this stuff too, but I can tell you that this combination works...and it works extremely well.

I am willing to spend more for more HP but if I can get 110HP from just 107 jugs/pistons & cam with my stage one setup I am totally ok with it.

I will build another bike later for HP junkie bike, then I will go all out on that....for my touring bike I am good with 110HP...

You should get 110 rwhp (or very close to it) out of a 107. Keep us posted on your results.

Fuel Moto has many dyno charts on various builds that might give you a better idea on what combinations might meet your goal

What engine combination did you decide on BlkDragon?

Believe or not I have not, the shop that is doing it was busy last couple of weeks so we have not decided. We will be deciding coming week and getting it done and I will fill you in as soon as we figure out the best combination for the money without going too deep into the engine.

Update on what we are planning to go with on my engine performance upgrade:

Revolution Performance 107 kit with 10.5-1 flattop pistons
SE cam/oil pump upgrade
Cams=undecided but thinking about Woods 999 (any suggestion?)
TB=58mm with 6.2 injectors
Heads sent to MotorcycleMachine.com
Power Vision tuner
SE Heavy Breather
Freedom Performance Turnout 2 to 1 exhaust

looking at 2 more weeks to complete

It will be well worth the wait. Sounds like you're doing it the right way the first time head work and all. It will be a beast when you get it back.

Yea.....I don't want to do this again and spend more money on the labor, one shot, get the most HP out of it and done with it. And focus on my next V-Twin monster for local hotrod getting into trouble bike....LOL! That's a bit later down the road as we are planning to get a property where I can build a workshop on the property and don't have to deal with HOA....I hate HOA more than anything, at least the one I have to deal with anyway. And not to mention having only 2 car garage....now that's the 2nd thing I hate......dang, I am full of hate, what's going on with me today.....LOL!

Plus I am thinking about weather for me here in Michigan. I bet it's almost better to have the bike down now when it's stupid hot there in Arizona vs the rest of the year!

Just thought I update you guys on what is happening with my performance upgrade......yep....nothing much. Still waiting on the heads, should be back tomorrow (fingers crossed). Then waiting on other parts...another week and should be very close.

Shop has decided to go with Woods 999 cams

Which head package did you go with? I am excited for you brother. I can't wait to hear how it performs. Is there any chance you will be able to shoot a video of the bike while it's on the dyno?

I don't know exactly but shop sent my heads in and told the folks that I am into heavy HP so the head shop will do what they think that would push maximum HP for flat top 10.5.1 pistons, Woods 999 cams, etc......so I am kind of excited about this also.

I will have to break it in before they can do full Dyno tune so I will see if I can video the Dyno session after 1k miles.

I have a trip to make but only few hundred miles so I will see if I can put in as many miles as I can before my Las Vegas trip in October.

Will keep you posted...

LOL! It won't take you long to get those miles in. I just put a 743
miles on mine in two days.
