hello im going to replace my lower sliders on a 2011 street glide, can any one tell me should I take off my outer fairing, or take out the ignition and cover to take the cap nut off of the sliders, or is it a matter of choice, any help would be great thanks

You are going to have to get to the pinch bolts on the triple tree. I would think the faring might be in the way.

If it was me I would buy a Touring Model Service Manual for your 2011 Street Glide. The are $60 or less depending on were you buy them.
In my 2014 Service Manual it says for Fairing models to Remove DASH panel. See 2.38 Dash PANEL.

Another thing to remember is that sometimes you may be able to disassemble something on the bike with removing a cover or fairing but when it comes time to re-torque that same fastener you can't get a torque wrench on it without removing the fairing or cover anyway.
