You know what I totally don't need? A better sound system- one that has full sound and lots of depth-

Yet, I keep catching myself reading reviews, checking specs, and comparing prices... And playing with store speaker displays- that's actually pretty fun....

I feel the same way. I did grab a pair of 6.5 boom speakers off eBay. Brand new take offs from a CVO for $100. Quite an improvement in sound and it's all I'll ever need. I mostly don't listen much anyway. The sound of the the pipes.

I didn't think I did either, but I went moderate and took a special SG setup from John at J&M. It sounds really good-I was impressed.

Realistically each of us has our threshold and price point. I will admit that the more money thrown at a sound system the better the sound. Respectfully, for me, it's all about riding and not so much listening to my sound system. Yes I love music and am a guitar player and have played professionally but when I'm riding I'm really into the riding!

Best Always,

Blues

I hear ya Blues loud n clear. I mostly listen to mine sitting in the drive cleaning on it. I have 10 axes; Martins, Fenders & Gibsons.

I am down to five. Gibson ES335, Martin D1220, Martin D35, Paul Beard round neck reso for slide, and a nice cedar/rosewood parlor for fingers style. Plus an assortment of old tube amps.
And I'm a blues player hence the name,

Never thought the music would matter listen to the engine most of the time but a couple hundred miles of freeway to get out of here the music helps. Worst part I'm about half deaf so I had to up grade just so I could hear it.

That will be my final upgrade, I can live with the stock speakers but I wish Ii could get better reception on one of my favorite radio stations when in the back roads through the hills and woods of Ohio.

I've been using Bluetooth a bit more lately for playing music through Spotify on my bike. You might be able to find your station on iHeartRadio and play it crystal clear that way?

Sent from my phone.

Yeah I've about got her to where I want her. I bought her to ride and have alot of farm and curvy roads in my area. Spending money to get it where I want and maintaining a balance of both looks and performance is where I want to be. I like those cool looking low tail dragging big wheel expensive mods, but it wouldn't last long lol. The sad thing is these are parts that should have been OEM on it to begin with such as LED lighting, better speakers, the Stage kits ect.

We bought our first HD 25 years ago and haven't owned anything else since, but if I had one issue with them it is that we spend $25k for a bike, then end up replacing half of it just to make it functional. For instance, when you buy an SG Special with the better radio, it should come with things like XM.

Haven't figured out yet why the SG Standard comes with the better air shocks. Seems like the "Special" should be better.

Upgrading is a sickness. If something is "upgradable", I can't help but upgrade it. Unfortunately for me, HD knows that.

I don't even know what that is- final upgrade... Is it ever final and complete?

I think the final upgrade is right before you sell it! That's what I did with the Switchback.. got it right where I wanted it, then got a bug up my A$$ to upgrade the bike! I'm thinking there is a 12 Step program for this..
