my 2012 SG (64,000) and it is stock except exhaust while cruising it does this thing like the engine quits for a nano second and it continues to do this the gauges are not affected by this at all I am wondering if anyone has an idea as to what to look for

How old is your battery??

Check for trouble codes first. May be worth checking your fuel filter and Spark plugs. I know the fuel filter ain't due till 100k but plugs are every 30k so if you hadn't changed them at the last interval they're past due.
