wondering if anyone has put street canons and se air cleaner on with dealer down load and if it wakes bike up. And if it runs cooler?

That's good to hear. I was only able to hear mine run before it went into winter storage. I'm a believer in H-D Engineering and will stay with their hardware and ECM tuning. I bought an extended service contract so I don't want to screw that up either.

I'm looking to put that same kit on my 2014. I already have CFR slip ons. They have started bluing my stock headpipes. Will the new intake (part#29400129) and the ECM download prevent further bluing?

The head pipes are going to turn blue under the heat shields. That's normal. If you got blue mufflers, you're probably too lean. The tune should prevent blue mufflers.

My CFR slip ons haven't blued. I have only had them on for about 400 miles, then winter came... I am planning to do the air cleaner and the engine download before I ride this year. I'm just trying to avoid buying a tuner because i'm not changing out my stock head pipes. Hopefully the engine download will take care of it.

I am wanting to put on the stage 1 air cleaner and download. Staying with the stock mufflers for now as I will be changing out head pipe in the future. Talked to shop manager and he says I don't need the download if I am only doing the air cleaner kit.
He has never steered me wrong but reading the installation instructions it states ecm recal. What are you opinions.

Follow the written instructions from H-D. I would change the pipes and AC at the same time and add the download tune.

Now it's always about what your budget is, however, I would do pipes and AC at same time so that I am paying for one ECM download and not two. Just my .02.

My wife's sportster has the SE slip ons and SE Stage 1 air cleaner. We originally went with the HD download for these components. The bike ran lean even after the download. I then tried the X14iED leads and experienced a very small increase in richness. Finally I installed a Fuel Moto Micro Tuner that I got from them while they were running a sale. It came with an appropriate map installed and has worked wonders on her bike. Smoother running, better cold start running, and less heat and better power. Cost less than the download too. I hope I don't sound like a shill for the guys at Fuel Moto but when something works, it works.

Fuel Moto is awesome. I have the Power Vision and live it. Fuel Moto's maps are great too.

Agree on Fuel Moto. I also have the Power Vision that they preloaded with my map and the bike runs great.
