Drilling out the cat

I assume they tuned the AFR on the dyno changing the exhaust temperature.

Yes and 3 days later they had me come back and they strapped on 2 more O2 sensors (wide band) with a memory kit and had me ride for a whole day. then they collected that data off the USB stick and tweaked the tables once again. very thorough dyno process.
The exhaust note actually got a bit mellower and slightly deeper.

That second step is very good. I suppose you did a bunch of wide open throttle runs through the gears to top speed to make sure the tune was perfect at all conditions. Just how fast will that bike go?;)

I tried that method when I put a cam in a 2009 Pontiac G8. I put in a wide band O2 and data logged a run down the freeway at night. I shut down at 145 mph and was still in 4th gear (six speed transmission). Tuning on the street can be fun or trouble I guess.

Yes, He told me to take it out for the day and run the $#*t out of it at all speeds and RPM's.
It was dialed in pretty good to begin with so he only had to make a few adjustments. He leaned it out in some spots and re-did the 1k to 2k RPM maps for both cylinders. He found an exhaust leak on the front cylinder as well and fixed that. I now have virtually no popping whatsoever. I'm not sure about top end speed- I only took it to 105 on the "memory run". I realize Dyno-ing a stock bike is a bit of overkill but heck, isn't just about everything we do to these machines anyway?

Hulkss- What's the idea / concept behind the double platinum spark plugs?

Just drilled out my cat and it was a PIA. Took me a 3 hours. But overall, I think it was worth it. The bike sounds more angry now.

It is a spark plug life increasing enhancement. Double means the platinum is on both the ground and center electrodes. Platinum is very slow to erode and is expensive so the plugs cost a little more. If your A/F mixture is correct with modern detergent no-lead gasoline double platinum plugs should last 100,000 miles.
