Started my HD problem in '93 when I decided to quit my aggressive riding habits on the various old Honda Nighthawks I used to have. '82 550 (screamer), '84 650 and '85 650 with some "S" fairing and mods.
I started looking at cruisers at a couple local HD shops (Knoxville & Morristown).
Fell in love with the '93 Buells....... before HD partnered (screwed) with him.
After several correspondence letters with Eric (Mr. Buell), I came to realize that I would have to wait over a year for my Buell order to come to fruition. A Softail wait at that time was ONLY 6-9 months!!!!! So I ordered a '93 MooGlide. Too late, not enough of them so I settled for a '94 Nostalgia.
Owned that tooth-filling losing, odometer reset knob losing, shifter lever losing, mirror loosening vibrating monster for 12 years.
Quit riding it in '02 when I bought an '01 ElectraGlide Police Bike with a bunch of Screamin' Eagle add-ons. Man, would that thing scoot!!!! I lowered it in the rear and added a cheapo CD player, put fairing mount mirrors and stripped off a bunch of unneeded chrome. I was making a Streetglide before there ever were any.
While at a local dealer getting oil and filter for a trip to Myrtle Beach bike week in '09, I traded the Police bike for an '09 Streetglide. I wanted radio hand controls and the newly redesigned chassis.
Well, that was awesome. Loved that bike and color...... reminiscent of my old "Candy-Brandywine" Honda Nighthawks.
Added adjustable backrest, Ultra seat, detach Tour-Pak, added LED Tour-pak lighting, hidden antenna, Kuryakyn header/mufflers/tuner.... etc...
Which brings me to this new '15 SGS in Morocco Gold....
Traded in the '09 while at Myrtle Beach Bike week, but kept the Tour-Pak and adjustable backrest so I could get my stuff home (comfortably).
Mods to follow....
Just ordered the Baggershield 8" adjustable to 14" windshield... feedback report soon.
