Exhaust sound vs killer audio

I have been listening to my motorcycle exhaust for over 30 years. I finally got my dream bike, a Street Glide of course, and it was like I entered a whole new world of motorcycling. As a musician, I love my music as much as I love riding. I'm just wondering if anyone out there have mellowed out there exhaust sound and volume to enjoy their music while riding. I got rid of loud pipes for the Fuelmoto E-Series slip ons. I like my setup now especially with an upgraded sound system.

Absolutely agree. I had originally planned on keeping the stock mufflers for the same reason (I'm a musician,as well),but decided after a while to add Stage 1. Had the "mellow Crushers" in mind, but changed to standard Crushers, as they're still quite AUDIO FRIENDLY.

Also, for ME, anyway, the 10" Windsplitter Shield made a big difference as it has little "xtra" winglets at the base that extend beyond the sides directly over the fairing speakers.
*I tried 5 different shields, & found the 10" yielded best audio.

I've recently heard that installing "dynamat" to the bottom inside of both bags "might" cut down on exhaust sound for rider & passenger. I "may" try it. Have to do some more research on it. I'm wondering if it has already been tried.

I know dynamat.com makes kits for "pre-Rushmore" fairings but I'm just wondering how their product would "deaden" the exhaust if blocked via the bag bottoms.

I guess that would help if your head was inside the saddlebag:D Save your time and money for something else.

Another thing you might try is a different wind shield. Had the 10 inch wind splitter also and changed to the clear view 18.5 and what a difference. You get a lot of wind noise from the wind splitter and I didn't even realize until I put the Clearview on.

Ditto! Same here TomA, The Clearview w/re curve option is a really nice shield!!

I guess I should have added the recurve part also. Sounds like a tall windshield but you measure it from the top of your ignition switch.
