We all know the MoCo brake arms are horrible on the 14-17s. What are pros/cons and opinions on the aftermarket extended versions from Softbrake, Kuryakyn, EZ Brake. I have the 1 inch forward floor boards installed. Do i need to go 2 inch on the brake arm or is the 1 inch enough? What about the angles of the pad? prices range from $90 to $199 why?

I have the same foot boards. Go 2" Softbrake if not using lower fairings. (I tried the 1").

Thank you that is two votes for the 2 inch soft brake and that was what I was leaning towards. and its right in the middle of the price range.

I have the +2" soft break and the floorboard extenders also. I love it. I am 6'1" with a 32" inseam. Size 12 foot. When you call he will ask you your information and recommend the one you need. I thought about the 1" but he recommended the 2". I put it on and never looked back.

I also have the 2" extended Softbrake. Additionally the pedal is dropped 20* which is much more pleasant than the stock Harley offering. When I installed the 2" extended Softbrake shift arm I used a 3/4" chrome spacer and longer bolt on the shifter pad to get it farther out toward my foot. I do not run a rear shift arm. I used the HD 1" forward floor pans and extended them 7/8" outward with a kit as well. At 6'-4" with a 36" inseam this combination works out well.

Best,

Blues

Do you have to reach your foot forward to apply the 2 inch arm or is it right where it belongs.

The rear of the pedal will be about even with the front of the foot board (H-D forward shifted boards).

I Used the Soft Brake +2 as well, one thing I ran into was my foot was always on the outside of the pedal. I found a Kury Pedal pad extender. It adds an inch and a half the the pedal. Easy install and it solved my problem.
